The streets of Jakarta were slick with rain as Jessica stood on the corner, her plastic raincoat shimmering in the headlights of passing cars. She held up a stack of raincoats, attempting to flag down potential customers amidst the downpour.
"Hey, sexy! You need a ride?" A group of construction workers catcalled and whistled as they drove by, leering at Jessica's exposed body. She rolled her eyes, used to this kind of treatment.
Just as she was about to give them the finger, a young businessman stopped and purchased a raincoat from Jessica. As he took it from her, their hands brushed against each other, sending a jolt of electricity through their bodies.
Jessica couldn't help but notice the growing bulge in the businessman's pants. She raised an eyebrow and smirked, "Looks like someone's excited for their new raincoat."
The businessman stammers, embarrassed by his body's reaction. Jessica laughed, "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Unless you want me to, of course."
The businessman quickly walked away, leaving Jessica alone at the street corner. She watched as the raincoat clung to his body, outlining every muscle.
"Hey, beautiful! Want to come party with us?" A group of teenage boys approached Jessica, making lewd comments and trying to touch her. She bats their hands away, "Back off, boys. I'm not your plaything."
The boys laughed and continued to harass Jessica. She gritted her teeth, trying to maintain her composure.
Suddenly, a group of women stopped and purchased raincoats from Jessica. They surrounded her, creating a barrier between her and the boys.
The women smiled at Jessica, "You don't have to put up with their bullshit. You're worth more than this."
Jessica felt a lump form in her throat. She's never had anyone stand up for her like this before.
The women continued to purchase raincoats, helping Jessica sell them all. As the rain started to let up, Jessica thanked them for their help.
The women winked at Jessica, "Anytime, darling. Remember, you're strong and capable. Don't let anyone make you feel less than that."
Jessica watched as the women walked away, feeling a newfound sense of empowerment. She straightened her posture and took a deep breath.
As she walked home, Jessica couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. She may have been reduced to selling raincoats on the street, but she won't let it break her. She's stronger than that.
The rain had stopped, but the streets were still slick with water. Jessica's heels clicked against the pavement as she walked, her head held high.
She may not have much, but she has her pride and her strength. And that's worth more than any amount of money.
Jessica couldn't wait to see what the future held for her. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was ready for whatever came her way.
Bring it on, world. Jessica was ready.
