Forbidden Fires: A Camping Temptation

Forbidden Fires: A Camping Temptation

Chapter 1: Sparks in the Wilderness

The forest was a cathedral of emerald and shadow, the air thick with the scent of pine and damp earth as Mia and her brother Ethan set up camp by a secluded lake. Mia, a fiercely independent woman with a sharp tongue and a no-nonsense attitude, rolled her eyes as Ethan struggled with the tent poles, his biceps flexing under the strain. At 28, she was a force of nature—athletic, confident, and utterly unimpressed by her younger brother’s attempts to play the rugged outdoorsman.

‘Seriously, Ethan, did you even read the instructions, or are you just hoping the tent magically erects itself?’ she quipped, arms crossed, her dark hair pulled back in a messy ponytail that somehow made her look even more untouchable.

Ethan, 25 and brimming with a cocky charm, shot her a grin that could melt glaciers. ‘Oh, come on, sis. I’ve got this under control. Besides, I figured you’d enjoy watching me sweat a little.’ His voice dipped, teasing, as he wiped his brow with the back of his hand, his shirt clinging to his chest in a way that Mia refused to notice.

‘Keep dreaming, little brother. I’m here for the quiet, not your sad attempts at flirting,’ she fired back, though her lips twitched with a reluctant smirk. She turned away, busying herself with unpacking the cooler, but Ethan’s gaze lingered on her, tracing the curve of her hips in those tight hiking shorts. He’d been at this for days—subtle jabs, playful touches, testing the waters of a boundary neither of them had dared to name.

As the sun dipped low, painting the lake in hues of gold and crimson, they sat by the crackling fire, the tension between them simmering like the flames. Ethan handed her a beer, his fingers brushing hers just a fraction too long. ‘You know, Mia, you’re always so damn hard to get. Ever think about letting someone in?’ His tone was light, but his hazel eyes burned with something dangerous, something hungry.

She scoffed, taking a long swig, her throat working in a way that made Ethan’s pulse race. ‘And what, let you think you’ve won? Not a chance. I don’t play easy, Ethan. You should know that by now.’ Her voice was a challenge, sharp as a blade, but her eyes flicked to his lips for just a heartbeat before she looked away.

He leaned closer, the heat of the fire nothing compared to the heat building between them. ‘Maybe I like a challenge. Maybe I’ve been working for days just to see you crack, even a little.’ His words were a low growl, and Mia felt a traitorous warmth coil in her core, her breath catching despite herself.

‘Keep working, then,’ she shot back, standing abruptly, her tone icy but her body betraying her with a flush creeping up her neck. ‘I’m going for a swim. Try not to burn the camp down while I’m gone.’ She stripped off her shirt as she walked toward the lake, revealing a black sports bra that hugged her curves, her confidence a weapon sharper than any knife. Ethan watched, jaw tight, knowing this was far from over.

As she dove into the cool water, he muttered to himself, ‘Fuck, she’s gonna be the death of me.’ But the game was on, and he was playing to win—days of seduction stretching ahead, each moment a step closer to an inferno neither could resist. The thought of her, wet and untamed, had him hard already, his mind racing with forbidden fantasies of her dripping, panting, and finally giving in to the heat.
