Forbidden Heat: A Reluctant Temptation

Forbidden Heat: A Reluctant Temptation

Chapter 1: The Setup

The air in the dimly lit living room was thick with unspoken tension as Nia sipped her wine, her deep brown eyes narrowing at her husband, Marcus, who lounged on the couch with a sly grin. She was a vision of strength, her curvy ebony frame draped in a tight red dress that hugged every inch of her powerful hips and thighs. At 34, Nia was a woman who commanded attention, her sharp tongue and no-nonsense attitude a shield against anything she didn’t want. And tonight, she smelled a rat.

“So, let me get this straight,” Nia said, her voice dripping with suspicion as she set her glass down on the coffee table. “You just *happened* to invite your old college buddy over for drinks on the one night I’m off work? Marcus, I’m not stupid. What’s your game?”

Marcus chuckled, leaning forward, his dark eyes glinting with mischief. “Baby, relax. It’s just drinks. You’ve been stressed. Thought you’d enjoy some company. Besides, Jake’s a good guy. You’ll like him.”

Nia arched a perfectly sculpted brow, crossing her arms over her ample chest. “Oh, I’ll like him, huh? What’s that supposed to mean? You trying to pawn me off or something?”

Before Marcus could answer, the doorbell rang, and he hopped up with an eagerness that made Nia’s gut twist. She watched him open the door, revealing Jake—a tall, broad-shouldered white guy with a cocky smirk and a presence that filled the room. His blue eyes locked on Nia instantly, and she felt an unexpected heat creep up her neck. Damn, he was fine. Too fine.

“Jake, man, good to see you!” Marcus clapped him on the back, ushering him in. “This is my wife, Nia. Nia, Jake.”

Jake extended a hand, his gaze never wavering. “Pleasure, Nia. Marcus didn’t do you justice. You’re stunning.”

Nia took his hand, her grip firm, not about to let this smooth-talker think he could charm her. “Flattery won’t get you far, Jake. I’m not some damsel waiting to be swept off her feet.”

He grinned, a flash of something dangerous in his eyes. “Good. I like a woman who knows her worth. Makes the chase more fun.”

Nia snorted, rolling her eyes as she turned to Marcus. “You hear this? Your boy’s got a mouth on him. Better keep him in check before I do.”

Marcus laughed, but there was a hungry edge to it. “Oh, I think you can handle him, babe. Let’s have some fun tonight.”

As the night wore on, the wine flowed, and the conversation grew bolder. Jake’s flirtations became more pointed, and Nia found herself biting back smiles at his sharp wit, even as her instincts screamed that something was up. Marcus kept egging them on, dropping hints about ‘spicing things up,’ until Nia finally snapped.

“Alright, enough of this bullshit,” she said, slamming her glass down. “What’s the real deal here, Marcus? You and your buddy got some kind of plan I’m not in on?”

Marcus exchanged a look with Jake, then leaned in, his voice low and suggestive. “What if we did, Nia? What if I told you I’ve been dying to see you let loose? With Jake. With me watching.”

Nia’s breath caught, her heart pounding as she stared at her husband, then at Jake, whose smirk had turned downright predatory. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” she said, but her voice wavered, a flicker of curiosity betraying her. “You think I’m just gonna roll over for some fantasy of yours?”

Jake leaned closer, his voice a husky whisper. “Not roll over, Nia. Take control. I bet you’d look fucking incredible riding me while Marcus watches every move.”

Her thighs clenched involuntarily at the image, a rush of heat flooding her core. She hated how her body reacted, how wet she was getting just from his words. But she wasn’t about to let them see her falter. “You’ve got a big mouth, Jake. Hope you’ve got something to back it up.”

“Oh, I’ve got plenty,” he shot back, his eyes dropping to his lap with a confidence that made her pulse race. “Care to find out?”

Nia stood, her chest heaving, torn between outrage and a burning desire she couldn’t ignore. She glared at Marcus, then at Jake, her voice sharp but trembling with anticipation. “Fine. But this is on my terms. You two better be ready for me.”

As she strode toward the bedroom, shedding her dress to reveal the lace beneath, Jake and Marcus followed, the air crackling with raw, untamed energy. She could feel Jake’s gaze on her ass, could sense Marcus’s excitement at the thought of watching her take what she wanted. And as she turned to face them, her eyes locked on Jake’s, she knew this night was about to explode.
