Forbidden Heat: The Prince's Secret

Forbidden Heat: The Prince's Secret

Chapter 1: The Breaking Point

The air in the Crown Prince’s chambers was thick with the scent of parchment and ink, a testament to the endless nights Alberu Crossman had spent hunched over state documents. At 21, the golden-haired prince was the picture of regal perfection—sharp cheekbones, piercing blue eyes, and a commanding presence that belied the secret he’d buried deep since he was 14. An Omega. A truth that, if uncovered, could shatter his claim to the throne of Roan Kingdom. Suppressants, dangerous and potent, had been his shield, but they’d also been his poison, eroding his health alongside chronic stress and sleeplessness.

Tonight, though, something felt... off. A creeping heat prickled beneath his skin, a sensation he hadn’t felt since that first, terrifying heat seven years ago. He clenched his jaw, willing it away, as a knock echoed through the room.

“Alberu, you in there? You look like death warmed over. Open up before we break the damn door down,” came Cale Henituse’s lazy drawl, his voice dripping with the kind of insolent concern only a brother—adopted or not—could muster. Beside him, Choi Han’s deeper tone chimed in, “Your Highness, we’re worried. You’ve been locked in here for days.”

Alberu’s lips curled into a wry smirk as he adjusted his pristine cravat, masking the tremor in his hands. “Worried? Or just bored without me to torment?” he shot back, his voice steady despite the storm brewing inside him. He opened the door, revealing the two Alphas who’d become his closest confidants. Cale, with his tousled red hair and devil-may-care grin, leaned against the frame, while Choi Han, ever the stoic swordsman, stood tall, his dark eyes scanning Alberu with an intensity that made the prince’s pulse stutter.

“Torment? Please, I’m a saint,” Cale quipped, stepping inside without invitation. “But seriously, you look like you haven’t eaten in a week. Or slept in a month. What’s the deal, Your Highness?”

Alberu waved a dismissive hand, ignoring the way his vision blurred at the edges. “State affairs. You wouldn’t understand, Cale. Some of us have responsibilities beyond napping and drinking.”

Choi Han frowned, his voice low and laced with something dangerous. “You’re pushing yourself too hard. Even a prince needs rest.”

“Rest is for the weak,” Alberu retorted, but his words faltered as a sharp, searing pain lanced through his core. He gripped the edge of his desk, breath hitching, as the first wave of heat crashed over him. Unpredictable. Uncontrollable. His suppressants had failed.

Cale’s smirk vanished, his Alpha instincts kicking in as a sweet, intoxicating scent filled the room. “Alberu... what the hell is that?” His voice was rough, pupils dilating as he took a step closer.

Choi Han’s hand twitched toward his sword, though there was no enemy to fight—only the primal urge clawing at him. “You’re... an Omega?” he growled, disbelief and hunger warring in his tone.

Alberu’s glare could’ve frozen fire. “Stay back. Both of you. I’m fine. I can handle this.” But his voice cracked, betraying him as another wave hit, sending him to his knees with a gasp. Sweat beaded on his brow, his body trembling with a need he’d suppressed for years.

“Handle it? You’re shaking like a damn leaf,” Cale snapped, his usual nonchalance replaced by a raw edge. He crouched beside Alberu, too close, his scent overwhelming. “You’ve been hiding this from us? How long?”

“Since I was fourteen,” Alberu hissed through gritted teeth, shoving at Cale’s chest with what little strength he had. “And I’ll keep hiding it. So back. Off.”

But Choi Han was already at his other side, his restraint fraying as the Omega’s heat called to every instinct in his Alpha blood. “We can’t just leave you like this,” he murmured, voice thick with something dark and hungry. “You’re in pain.”

“I said no!” Alberu barked, but his body betrayed him, a whimper escaping as the heat intensified, making him ache in ways he couldn’t ignore. His mind screamed resistance, but his flesh was weak, and the two Alphas looming over him were losing their battle with control.

Cale’s hand gripped Alberu’s chin, forcing him to meet his gaze. “You think we want to hurt you? We don’t. But this scent... it’s driving me fucking insane.” His thumb brushed Alberu’s jaw, a touch that sent sparks through the prince’s already fraying nerves.

“Fight it, then,” Alberu snarled, even as his body leaned into the touch against his will. “I’m not some damsel for you to ravish.”

Choi Han’s breath was hot against Alberu’s ear as he leaned in, voice a dangerous whisper. “We’re trying. But you’re making it damn hard.”

The room seemed to shrink, the air charged with tension as the prince’s heat pulsed stronger, his defiance warring with the dripping need coursing through him. Cale’s hand slid down Alberu’s neck, and Choi Han’s fingers brushed his thigh, their restraint hanging by a thread. Alberu’s sharp tongue was ready with another retort, but as their touches grew bolder, the line between control and chaos blurred, promising an explosive surrender that none of them could escape.
