Chapter 1: The Unspoken Heat
The air in the family beach house was thick with the scent of saltwater and unspoken tension. Woei Shiaun, my sister-in-law, stood by the open balcony, her thin frame silhouetted against the setting sun. Those slender legs of hers, barely covered by a flowing sundress, seemed to taunt me with every subtle shift of her weight. She was engaged, promised to another, and yet here we were, alone for the weekend while my wife and her fiancé handled some last-minute wedding details in the city. The guilt was a sharp blade in my chest, but the heat pooling in my gut was sharper still.
'You’ve been staring at me for ten minutes, Kai,' Woei Shiaun said, her voice cutting through the silence like a whip. She didn’t turn around, but I could hear the smirk in her tone. 'If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were undressing me with your eyes.'
I leaned against the kitchen counter, gripping the edge to steady myself. 'And if I didn’t know better, I’d think you were enjoying it,' I shot back, my voice low, testing the waters. The game we played was dangerous, but fuck, it was thrilling.
She finally turned, her dark eyes glinting with a mix of defiance and something darker, something hungry. 'Careful, brother-in-law,' she warned, stepping closer, her bare feet silent on the wooden floor. 'You’re playing with fire, and I’m not the kind of woman who burns easily.'
'Maybe I like the heat,' I countered, my gaze dropping to the way her dress clung to her hips. My pulse hammered in my ears. 'Or maybe you’re just too damn tempting to ignore.'
Woei Shiaun laughed, sharp and biting, but there was a tremor in it, a crack in her armor. 'You think flattery will get you anywhere? I’m not some naive girl who falls for pretty words.' She stopped just inches from me, close enough that I could smell the coconut lotion on her skin. 'But I’ll admit, I’m curious. What exactly are you imagining right now?'
I swallowed hard, my throat dry as sandpaper. 'I’m imagining how those legs of yours would feel wrapped around me,' I said, my voice rough with want. 'How you’d look under me, fighting that guilt with every breath while I make you forget everything but how good it feels.'
Her breath hitched, and for a moment, I saw the war in her eyes—duty versus desire. Then she stepped even closer, her chest brushing mine, her lips curling into a wicked smile. 'Big talk for a man who’s all bark and no bite,' she challenged. 'You think you can handle me? I don’t break easily.'
My hands moved before I could stop them, gripping her waist, pulling her flush against me. I could feel the heat of her through the thin fabric, and it took everything in me not to groan. 'Keep pushing, Woei Shiaun,' I growled, my lips hovering over hers. 'I’ll show you just how much bite I’ve got.'
Her eyes flashed with fire, and she tilted her head, daring me. 'Prove it, then. Or are you just going to stand there, hard and useless?'
That was it. The dam broke. My mouth crashed into hers, hungry and desperate, tasting the forbidden fruit I’d craved for months. Her hands fisted in my shirt, pulling me closer, her body arching into mine as if she’d been starving for this just as much as I had. The guilt was still there, a bitter tang on my tongue, but it was drowned out by the heat of her, the way she kissed me back like she owned me.
We stumbled toward the couch, her legs wrapping around my waist just as I’d imagined, her dress riding up to reveal more of that smooth, tantalizing skin. I could feel myself growing harder with every grind of her hips, every sharp gasp she let out against my mouth. 'Fuck, Woei Shiaun,' I panted, my hands sliding under her thighs, gripping her tight. 'You’re going to be the death of me.'
'Good,' she hissed, her nails digging into my shoulders. 'Now shut up and show me what you’ve got before I change my mind.'
And with that, we were lost, teetering on the edge of something explosive, something neither of us could take back.
