Forbidden Vengeance

Forbidden Vengeance

**Chapter 1: The Spark of Retribution**

Marissa stood in the dimly lit kitchen of her in-laws’ sprawling estate, the weight of betrayal heavy on her chest. Her husband, Ethan, had shattered their vows with a cheap fling, and the sting of his infidelity burned hotter with every passing second. At thirty-eight, Marissa was a force—curves that could stop traffic, a sharp tongue that could cut glass, and a will of iron. She wasn’t the type to crumble, but tonight, she was teetering on the edge of something dangerous.

The back door creaked open, and in strode Victor, Ethan’s father. At sixty-two, he was a silver fox with a predatory grin, his eyes always lingering a little too long on Marissa’s voluptuous frame. Tonight, they raked over her with unabashed hunger, zeroing in on the tight denim hugging her generous hips and that big, round ass he’d fantasized about for years.

“Trouble in paradise, darling?” Victor’s voice was a low growl, dripping with mock concern as he leaned against the counter, a glass of whiskey in hand.

Marissa’s jaw tightened, her hazel eyes flashing. “Don’t play coy, Victor. You’ve probably known about Ethan’s little whore for weeks.”

He chuckled, swirling the amber liquid. “Guilty as charged. But let’s not pretend you’re here for a shoulder to cry on. You’ve got fire in you tonight, girl. I can smell it.”

She crossed her arms, pushing her ample chest forward unintentionally, and smirked. “And what exactly do you think I’m here for, old man? A bedtime story?”

Victor’s grin widened, his gaze darkening. “Oh, I’ve got a story for you, Marissa. One where you get even. One where you take back what’s yours—and maybe a little more.” He stepped closer, the air between them crackling. “Ethan doesn’t deserve you. But I’ve been waiting to show you what a real man can do.”

Her breath hitched, but she didn’t back down. “You’re disgusting. You think I’d let you anywhere near me just to spite him?”

“Disgusting?” He laughed, low and dangerous, setting the glass down and closing the distance. His hand hovered near her hip, not touching—yet. “I think you’re curious. I think you’re so damn pissed off you’d burn the world down just to feel something other than hurt. And I think you know I’ve wanted that sweet ass of yours since the day I met you.”

Marissa’s lips parted, a retort on the tip of her tongue, but the raw heat in his words struck a nerve. She hated him—hated his arrogance, his audacity—but there was a dark, twisted part of her that craved the chaos he offered. Revenge. Power. A way to claw back her dignity.

“You’re out of your mind,” she snapped, but her voice wavered, her body betraying her as she felt a flush creeping up her neck.

“Am I?” Victor’s hand finally grazed her hip, firm and unapologetic. “Tell me to stop, then. Tell me you don’t want to make Ethan regret ever looking at another woman.”

Her eyes locked with his, a storm of anger and desire swirling within her. She should’ve slapped him. Should’ve walked away. But instead, she stepped closer, her voice a husky challenge. “If we do this, it’s on my terms. You don’t own me, Victor. You’re just a means to an end.”

His smirk was pure sin. “Oh, darling, I’ll take whatever you give me. But I’m warning you—I play dirty.”

Before she could second-guess herself, Marissa grabbed the collar of his shirt, pulling him into a fierce, angry kiss. It was all teeth and heat, a collision of pent-up rage and forbidden lust. His hands were on her in an instant, gripping her hips, sliding down to palm her ass with a possessive groan. She felt him, hard already, pressing against her, and a thrill of control surged through her. This wasn’t surrender—it was war.

“Goddamn, woman,” he rasped against her lips, his breath hot. “You’re gonna be the death of me.”

“Good,” she shot back, her nails digging into his shoulders. “Now shut up and show me if you’re all talk.”

Victor’s eyes gleamed with wicked intent as he backed her against the counter, his hands roaming, ready to claim every inch she’d allow—and maybe more. The night was about to ignite, and Marissa was done playing nice.
