Forbidden Windows

Chapter 1: The Heat Behind the Curtains

Aadya adjusted the sheer saree over her shoulder, the crimson fabric clinging to her curves like a lover’s whisper. At 23, she was a vision of untamed beauty, her dark eyes sharp with a hunger her newlywed life had yet to sate. Her husband, Umesh, 35 and drowning in whiskey, had left her untouched for weeks, his work dragging him to nearby cities while his neglect burned her from within. Their flat in the bustling Mumbai chawl was a cage, but the window—oh, that window—was her escape.

Across the narrow alley, Noor and Arif’s flat glowed with a different kind of heat. Noor, bold and unapologetic, had become Aadya’s unlikely confidante. That afternoon, as they sipped chai on Noor’s balcony, the older woman’s teasing sliced through the humid air. 'Arif takes me three times a day, minimum,' Noor purred, her kohl-lined eyes glinting with mischief. 'What about Umesh? Does he make you scream, or are you still waiting for that first proper fuck?'

Aadya’s cheeks burned, but she held her ground, her voice steady despite the ache in her chest. 'Umesh drinks more than he touches me. I’m a wife in name only.' Her confession hung heavy, and Noor’s smirk softened into something dangerous.

'Poor thing,' Noor cooed, leaning closer, her perfume dizzying. 'You should see how Arif handles me. Maybe it’ll teach you what you’re missing.'

That night, Aadya couldn’t resist. Hidden behind the flimsy curtains of her bedroom, she watched. Arif, all muscle and raw power, had Noor pinned against their window, her moans spilling into the night like a forbidden song. Aadya’s breath hitched, her fingers trembling as she clutched the fabric, her body betraying her with a heat she couldn’t name. Every thrust, every grunt from Arif, echoed in her core. She was wet, aching, her mind racing with thoughts she shouldn’t dare.

Days later, Noor, heavy with pregnancy, knocked on Aadya’s door. 'I’m off for delivery soon,' she said, her tone casual but her eyes sharp. 'Arif’s useless with food. Help him out, will you? He’s a beast in bed but a child in the kitchen.'

Aadya nodded, her pulse quickening at the thought of being alone with Arif. 'Of course,' she replied, her voice cool, masking the storm inside. 'I’ll make sure he’s fed.'

The first evening she crossed the alley to Arif’s flat, the air was thick with tension. She carried a tray of dal and roti, her saree slipping just enough to reveal the curve of her waist. Arif answered the door shirtless, fresh from a bath, droplets of water clinging to his broad chest. His gaze lingered, dark and hungry, as he stepped aside. 'Didn’t expect a goddess to bring me dinner,' he drawled, his voice low, teasing.

Aadya smirked, brushing past him, her hip grazing his thigh. 'Don’t get used to it. I’m not your servant.'

'Oh, I wouldn’t dream of taming you,' Arif shot back, his eyes following her every move as she set the tray down. 'But I’ve seen you watching, Aadya. Behind those curtains. You think I don’t notice how your breath catches?'

Her heart slammed against her ribs, but she didn’t flinch. 'Maybe I was just bored,' she retorted, turning to face him, her chin high. 'Your window’s the only entertainment around here.'

Arif stepped closer, the heat of his body a challenge she couldn’t ignore. 'Bored, huh? I could give you something better to watch. Or feel.' His hand brushed her arm, and she felt the spark ignite, her skin prickling with need.

She should’ve walked away. She didn’t. Instead, she tilted her head, her voice a daring whisper. 'Prove it, then. Show me what I’ve been missing.'

His grin was feral as he backed her against the wall, his hands already tugging at the pallu of her saree. Her breath came fast, her body screaming for more as his lips hovered over hers. She wasn’t some wilting flower—she was fire, and she’d burn with him if it meant feeling alive. The room spun, charged with the promise of something raw and forbidden, as his fingers found the edge of her blouse, and her resolve melted into a desperate, dripping heat.
