The dorm room was a sanctuary of chaos, a cozy, cluttered space that somehow felt like home to the five of them. Mismatched furniture—a creaky old couch and a giant, lumpy bean bag—dominated the small room, while string lights draped over the walls cast a warm, golden glow. A lavender diffuser on the windowsill puffed out its calming scent, mingling with the faint musk of too many bodies in too small a space. After a long day of university classes, the air was thick with the comfort of familiarity as they sprawled out, limbs tangled and laughter lingering.
Tommy hobbled in on his crutches, his fluffy blonde bangs falling into his eyes as he clutched a worn shark plushie to his chest. His giggle, bright and infectious, filled the room as he recounted a professor’s terrible pun from earlier. “I swear, Dr. Hensley thought he was a comedian with that ‘parallel lines have so much in common’ bit. I nearly died laughing just to be polite!”
James, all 6’2 of him, lounged on the couch with a lazy smirk, his broad shoulders taking up far too much space. He reached over, brushing Tommy’s bangs out of his face with a tenderness that belied his teasing tone. “You’re too damn cute, Froggie. Heard you snoring like a little bullfrog during that nap earlier. Thought I was gonna have to kiss you awake.”
Tommy’s cheeks pinked, and he ducked his head, clutching his shark tighter. “Shut up, James. I don’t snore like a frog.”
“Oh, you absolutely do,” Felix chimed in, their pastel blue hair bouncing as they leapt up from the bean bag with boundless energy. They darted over to help Tommy settle onto the couch, their hands quick but careful. “Come on, tiny gremlin, let’s get you comfy before you topple over. Honestly, you need constant babysitting, don’t you?”
Tommy stuck out his tongue, but there was no heat in it. “I’m fine, Felix. You’re just jealous I’m cuter than you.”
Felix gasped dramatically, clutching their chest. “Excuse me? I’m a national treasure, thank you very much.”
From her spot curled up on the couch, Lillie let out a theatrical yawn, her long, curly brown hair splayed over a pillow. She wore nothing but one of James’s oversized t-shirts, the hem barely covering her thighs as she stretched like a cat. “Can y’all quiet down? I’m dying for a cuddle over here, and all I’m getting is bickering. Someone come fix this tragedy.”
Alex, the nerdy sweetheart of the group, adjusted his round glasses as they slipped down his nose, his braces glinting as he grinned. He was halfway through a rambling explanation of some obscure sci-fi movie plot, his hands gesturing wildly. “—and then the AI decides it’s in love with the captain, but the ship’s protocol is to—"
“Alex, babe, you’re nerding out too hard,” Felix interrupted with a wicked grin, tossing a stray sock at him. “We get it, you’re a walking IMDb page. Spare us.”
Alex caught the sock midair, rolling his eyes. “Fine, fine. I’ll save my brilliance for someone who appreciates it.”
The mood shifted as Tommy sank deeper into the couch, his small frame looking even more fragile than usual. He hugged his shark plushie tighter, his voice soft. “Ugh, today sucked. My joints are killing me. Stupid Ehlers-Danlos acting up again.”
James was at his side in an instant, kneeling beside the couch with a gentle hand on Tommy’s shoulder. “Hey, Froggie, just breathe. I’ve got you.” His fingers began a slow, soothing massage, coaxing the tension from Tommy’s muscles.
Lillie, never one to be left out, shuffled closer, draping herself over Tommy’s lap like a sleepy kitten. Her bare skin brushed against him as she nuzzled into his chest, her voice a lazy purr. “Mmm, you’re too tense, baby boy. Let us take care of you.”
Felix, unable to sit still for more than a second, bounced on their heels, their eyes glinting with mischief. “Hold up, who gets to spoil Froggie first? James, you’re hogging all the cuddles with those giant bear paws of yours. Move over, big guy.”
James shot Felix a mock glare, his deep voice rumbling. “Back off, pixie. I’ve got this.”
Alex, sensing Tommy’s need for a distraction, pushed his glasses up with a mischievous grin. His tongue piercing caught the light as he leaned closer, his tone dripping with innuendo. “How about I make Froggie forget all about the bad day, huh? I’ve got a few… tricks up my sleeve.”
Tommy’s blush deepened, his bangs hiding a shy smile as he nodded. “O-okay. If you’re sure…”
James and Felix exchanged a knowing look, the air between them crackling with anticipation. Felix smirked, crossing their arms. “Oh, this I gotta see. Geek boy’s got game?”
Lillie sat up suddenly, her sleepy demeanor replaced by a wicked smirk. Her brown eyes gleamed with authority as she fixed Alex with a pointed stare. “I’m not missing out on the show, nerd. Don’t think for a second you’re getting all the fun. What are you even gonna do with that tongue piercing, huh? Such a nerdy little perv.”
Alex’s grin widened, unfazed by the jab. “Oh, you’ll see, Lillie. I’ve got skills you can’t even dream of.”
He crawled over with deliberate slowness, positioning himself between Tommy’s legs. His hands were gentle but firm as he eased Tommy’s small frame back against the couch, his touch both comforting and charged. The others watched, the air growing heavy with heat, their breaths collectively hitching.
Felix, perched on the arm of the couch, couldn’t resist egging Alex on. Their voice was a teasing lilt, sharp and playful. “Don’t choke on Froggie’s pretty little pussy, geek boy. Wouldn’t want you to embarrass yourself in front of the whole squad.”
James, his patience fraying with desire, muttered something filthy under his breath, his hands twitching where they rested on Tommy’s shoulders. “Fuck, keep talking like that, Felix, and I’m gonna lose it.”
Lillie’s fingers wandered over her own bare thighs, her gaze locked on the scene unfolding before her. Her voice cut through the tension like a whip, commanding and direct. “Don’t hog all the fun, nerd—save some for the rest of us!”
The room seemed to hold its breath as Alex’s tongue piercing brushed against Tommy, a soft, trembling gasp escaping his lips. The sound was a spark, igniting the charged atmosphere, leaving them all teetering on the edge of something wild and untamed.
And just like that, the night was only beginning.
