The city hospital was a hive of activity, bustling with the comings and goings of patients, doctors, and nurses. Amidst the sea of people, a young man named James, all of twenty-one years old, was led along by his mother. She was a stern woman, her grip on his arm tight, her nails digging into his skin.
“Keep your head down, James,” she hissed, her voice low and menacing. “Don’t let them see you. They’ll only laugh.”
