Goddess of Invention's Serendipitous Conception: When Cady's Wise Pregnancy Shocks the Olympian Gods and Puts Cheating Gods of Love and War in Their Place (And, of course, the story would be full of playful insults, humor, and extensive dialogue between strong, controlling, and direct female characters!)

Chapter One: The Goddess' Secret

The Grand Hall of Olympus was buzzing with the sound of chatter and laughter as Cady, the goddess of inventions and technology, walked in. She was used to the idle gossip that swirled around her, but today it seemed especially pointed. As she made her way to the throne where Zeus and Hera were seated, she couldn't help but overhear some of the gods and goddesses discussing her.

"Did you hear? Cady is pregnant," whispered Apollo, the god of the sun.

"Who could the father be?" asked Artemis, the goddess of the hunt.

Cady rolled her eyes and quickened her pace. She knew that the gossip would only get worse once the news of her pregnancy spread. She reached the throne and bowed low to Hera, the queen of the gods.

"Cady, my dear," Hera said, her voice warm and welcoming. "We've been hearing rumors of your pregnancy. Is it true?"

Cady took a deep breath and nodded. "Yes, it's true. I'm pregnant."

Hera smiled and congratulated her. "I'm so happy for you, my dear. And who is the father?"

Cady hesitated for a moment before admitting the truth. "Hephaestus. He's the father."

Hera's smile grew wider. "I'm glad to hear it. Hephaestus is a good man. You've made a wise choice."

Cady thanked Hera and began to turn away, but not before she caught sight of Aphrodite, the goddess of love, making a snide comment. Cady's eyes narrowed, and she marched over to the goddess.

"What did you say?" Cady demanded.

Aphrodite looked taken aback. "I-I didn't say anything."

Cady crossed her arms and fixed Aphrodite with a steely gaze. "You were making a comment about my pregnancy. Don't deny it."

Aphrodite sighed. "Fine. I was just saying that it's a bit unexpected, that's all."

Cady's voice was low and dangerous. "You have no room to talk, Aphrodite. You're the one who cheated on Hephaestus with his own brother, Ares."

Aphrodite looked hurt. "It was a mistake. I'm sorry."

Cady cut her off. "I don't want to hear your apologies. You've hurt Hephaestus enough. Leave him alone."

Aphrodite stormed off, and Cady shook her head. She couldn't believe that the goddess of love would stoop so low. As she was leaving the grand hall, she ran into Hephaestus.

His eyes widened when he saw her. "Cady, is it true? Are you pregnant?"

Cady smiled. "Yes, it's true. I'm pregnant with your child."

Hephaestus looked stunned for a moment before breaking into a wide grin. He pulled Cady into a tight embrace and whispered in her ear. "I'm so happy. We're going to be parents."

Cady felt her heart swell with love and desire. She couldn't wait to start this new chapter of her life with Hephaestus by her side.
