The grand feast of the gods was in full swing, and at the heart of it all was Aniya, the goddess of sins and ruler of Tartarus. Her tan skin glowed in the flickering light of a thousand torches, and her curly brown hair cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall of chocolate silk. She held court with a mischievous grin on her face, regaling the crowd with tales of her and Hera’s latest escapades.
As Aniya’s story reached its crescendo, she revealed the juicy detail that left the room growing quiet with suspicious glances. “You see, I left Hera alone for 30 minutes to touch up my makeup. And when I finally found her… well, let’s just say she was otherwise occupied.”
Hera, looking flustered, interrupted Aniya’s story and tried to change the subject, but the ever-curious Zeus urged Aniya to continue. With a wicked glint in her eye, Aniya took a sip of her drink and continued, “So there I was, searching high and low for Hera, when I found one of her high heels near a door. I nearly broke the door down, thinking something terrible had happened, when I found Hera…” She let the words hang in the air, savoring the delicious tension building in the room.
The room erupted in laughter as Aniya described Hera’s shocked expression upon being caught. Hera, trying to salvage her dignity, muttered, “I was just blowing off some steam, Aniya. You don’t have to make a scene.”
Aniya winked at Hera and replied, “Oh, honey, I’m the goddess of sins. Making a scene is what I do best.”
Hera, now visibly annoyed, put on a brave face and said, “Well, Aniya, at least you provided some entertainment for the evening. I’m sure Zeus is thrilled to hear about my… extracurricular activities.”
Zeus, trying to keep the peace, laughed and said, “Now, Hera, Aniya was just having a bit of fun. No need to get upset.”
Aniya, sensing Hera’s irritation, leaned in and whispered, “Hey, I’m sorry if I embarrassed you. I didn’t mean to.”
Hera, softening, smiled and replied, “It’s alright, Aniya. I know you didn’t mean any harm. But next time, maybe give me a heads up before you start spilling all my secrets.”
Aniya, still grinning, raised her glass and toasted, “To Tartarus, where all our secrets are safe.”
The room erupted in cheers as the gods raised their glasses and drank to Aniya’s toast.
As the night wore on, Aniya and Hera made amends, their laughter and banter filling the room once again. But as the feast came to a close, Hera pulled Aniya aside and said, “Aniya, there’s something I need to tell you. I found out I’m pregnant, and I’ve been lying to Zeus. He thinks the baby is his, but it’s not.”
Aniya, shocked, asked, “Whose is it then?”
Hera, with a sad smile, replied, “It’s yours, Aniya. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner. I was scared of what Zeus would do if he found out.”
