The palace of Brigitte, the goddess of candy and sweets, was a vibrant and playful abode, adorned with every type of confection one could imagine. As the goddesses arrived, each with their newborns in tow, the air was filled with joy and excitement.
Brigitte, Hera, Amphimtrite, and Pershephone exchanged warm greetings, their voices ringing with laughter. "Welcome, my dear friends!" Brigitte exclaimed, offering a tray of candies and sweets to her guests. "Please, help yourselves. I've been saving these especially for you."
The goddesses eagerly partook, their faces lighting up with delight. Amphimtrite, however, declined, patting her flat stomach. "I'm afraid my sweet tooth has vanished since giving birth. I have no room for anything but my little Perseus."
The goddesses discussed their babies' eating habits, with Brigitte and Hera breastfeeding their babies, while Amphimtrite and Pershephone bottle fed theirs. A playful insult was exchanged between Brigitte and Amphimtrite, with Brigitte teasing her for being too posh to breastfeed. "Oh, Amphimtrite, you're always so concerned with appearances. I, on the other hand, am not afraid to get a little messy for the sake of my baby."
Amphimtrite rolled her eyes, a smile playing on her lips. "You always have been the more... earthy of us, Brigitte. But I must say, your candies and sweets are a welcome treat."
The conversation turned to the babies' sleeping patterns. Brigitte's baby, Solace, slept through the night, while Hera's Jason wakes up every few hours. Amphimtrite's Perseus and Pershephone's Bianca and Nico were inconsistent sleepers.
"At least Solace is a good sleeper," Hera said, yawning. "I don't know how much longer I can keep this up."
The goddesses shared their experiences of being postpartum and how their husbands had been treating them. Hera complained about Zeus's lack of help, while Amphimtrite praised Poseidon for his support.
"Zeus has been completely useless," Hera huffed. "He doesn't know the first thing about taking care of a baby. I swear, if it wasn't for Hestia, I don't know how I would cope."
Amphimtrite nodded in understanding. "Poseidon has been a godsend. He changes diapers, brings me food, and even sings lullabies to Perseus. I couldn't ask for a better partner."
The goddesses discussed how their husbands had been treating the babies. Brigitte shared a humorous story about how Apollo nearly passed out when he saw her give birth.
"He couldn't handle the sight of blood," Brigitte laughed. "He fainted right there on the spot. It took me a good hour to revive him. But now, he's smitten with Solace. He can't get enough of her."
The goddesses exchanged gifts for their newborns. Pershephone gifts Solace a black raven, a symbol of wisdom and intelligence.
"Thank you, Pershephone," Brigitte said, admiring the bird. "I'm sure Solace will appreciate this gift as she grows older."
The goddesses engaged in a playful pillow fight, their laughter echoing through the palace.
"This has been such a wonderful gathering," Brigitte said, as the goddesses bid farewell. "I can't wait until we do it again."
As the goddesses departed, Brigitte reflected on the joy and laughter they shared, looking forward to their next gathering.
