Chapter 1: A Chance Aisle Encounter
Nina pushed her cart down the aisle of the local grocery store, her petite frame barely visible over the handle. Her blonde hair was tied up in a messy bun, and her tight yoga pants hugged every curve of her toned legs. She was on a mission for mundane dinner ingredients, but her sharp blue eyes caught something far more enticing—a tall, rugged stranger with a devilish smirk, lingering by the canned goods. He was all dark stubble and broad shoulders, and the way his gaze locked on her sent a shiver down her spine.
'Lost, or just scoping out the scenery?' Nina quipped, her voice dripping with playful challenge as she slowed her cart beside him.
He turned, his smirk widening. 'Oh, I’m definitely enjoying the view. Name’s Jace. And you are… trouble, I’m guessing?'
Nina laughed, a low, throaty sound that made his eyes darken. 'Only if you can keep up. I’m Nina. And I don’t usually chat up strangers over canned peas.'
'Good thing I’m not just any stranger,' Jace shot back, stepping closer. His voice dropped to a husky murmur. 'I’ve got a knack for spotting women who need a little… excitement. And you, Nina, look like you’ve been craving it.'
Her breath hitched, but she didn’t back down. 'Bold assumption. What makes you think I’m not getting plenty at home?'
Jace’s eyes glinted with mischief. 'Because if you were, you wouldn’t be looking at me like you’re already imagining what I’d do to you in the back of my truck.'
Nina’s lips parted, a flush creeping up her neck, but she held her ground. 'Oh, honey, you’ve got no idea what I’m imagining. But I’ll give you a hint—it’s not happening in a damn parking lot.'
Their banter was electric, charged with unspoken promises. Jace leaned in, his breath warm against her ear. 'Then name the place, Nina. I’m all ears… and a hell of a lot more, if you’re game.'
She smirked, her confidence unwavering. 'Follow me to the checkout. If you’re lucky, I’ll let you carry my bags—and maybe show you a side of me my husband hasn’t seen in years.'
Minutes later, they were outside, the tension between them thick as humid summer air. Nina led him to her car, her hips swaying with purpose. She popped the trunk, but instead of handing over groceries, she turned, her gaze fierce and hungry. 'You’ve got ten seconds to convince me this isn’t a waste of my time, Jace.'
He didn’t hesitate, stepping close, his hands hovering just above her waist. 'I don’t need ten. I need one. Let me show you how hard I’ve been since I saw you in that aisle.'
Her eyes flicked down, catching the bulge straining against his jeans, and a wicked grin spread across her face. 'Impressive. But I’m not some damsel waiting to be saved. If we do this, I’m in charge.'
Jace chuckled, low and dangerous. 'I wouldn’t have it any other way.'
They were inches apart now, the heat between them unbearable. Nina’s fingers brushed his chest, her voice a seductive purr. 'Then let’s see if you can handle me.'
Their lips crashed together in a hungry, desperate kiss, right there in the shadowed corner of the parking lot. Her hands gripped his shirt, pulling him closer, while his roamed down to her ass, squeezing with a groan. She could feel how hard he was, pressed against her, and it made her wet with anticipation, her body aching for more. They were sweating already, panting against each other’s mouths, the promise of something explosive just seconds away…
