Chapter 1: Unholy Alliances

Zelldrake Morningstar, son of the infamous Lucifer, stood in the dimly lit banquet hall of the Lux, his father’s notorious nightclub turned neutral ground for celestial and infernal dealings. At eighteen, Zell was a striking figure—blonde hair falling in tousled waves over piercing blue eyes, his slim but toned frame wrapped in a tailored black suit that hugged every line of his body. He was a beta, a fact he’d only recently come to terms with, and tonight, he was about to learn just how much that label would define his future.
“Why the hell am I even here, Dad?” Zell muttered, arms crossed, as he leaned against a marble pillar. His voice carried a sharp edge, honed by years of navigating his father’s cryptic games. “I don’t do meet-and-greets. I’m not your bloody PR manager.”
Lucifer, ever the charmer, adjusted his cufflinks with a devilish grin. “Oh, come now, Zelldrake. You’re my heir, my pride and joy. Besides, it’s high time you mingled with the upper echelons of our... complicated family tree. War’s brewing, and alliances must be forged.”
Zell rolled his eyes, his jaw tightening. “Alliances? You mean deals with devils I don’t even know? I’m not some pawn to be traded, Dad.”
Lucifer’s smirk faltered for a fraction of a second before he clapped a hand on Zell’s shoulder. “Trust me, son. This is for your own good. And theirs.” He gestured toward the far end of the hall, where two women stood like queens commanding their court.
Mazikeen, the fierce demoness with a penchant for knives and chaos, wore a crimson dress that clung to her curves like a second skin. Her dark eyes locked onto Zell with a predatory glint, a smirk playing on her lips. Beside her stood Eve, the original temptress, her golden hair cascading over a emerald gown that shimmered with every move. Her gaze was softer, but no less intense, as if she could unravel every secret Zell buried deep.
“Bloody hell,” Zell muttered under his breath, feeling the heat of their stares like a physical touch. “Who are they, and why are they looking at me like I’m dinner?”
Lucifer chuckled, low and dark. “Mazikeen and Eve, my boy. Your betrothed. Both of them. Alphas, the pair, and quite the power couple. They’ve agreed to this union to prevent a war between realms. And you, my dear beta son, are the key to their peace... and their pleasure.”
Zell’s blood ran cold, then hot, a storm of anger and confusion swirling in his chest. “Betrothed? Are you fucking kidding me? I’m not marrying anyone, let alone two alphas who could probably snap me in half! And what’s this about peace? Since when do I play diplomat?”
Lucifer’s eyes gleamed with mischief. “Oh, it’s more than diplomacy, Zelldrake. Alphas and betas... let’s just say the dynamics are rather... fertile. You could carry their heirs, seal the pact in blood and bond. Quite literally.”
Zell’s face flushed, his fists clenching at his sides. “I’m not a damn incubator! You can’t just—”
“Careful, little Morningstar,” Mazikeen’s voice cut through his rant like a blade, smooth and dangerous. She sauntered over, hips swaying with lethal grace, Eve trailing behind with a knowing smile. “You’ve got fire in you. I like that. But don’t mistake our arrangement for weakness. We’re not here to break you. We’re here to claim you.”
Zell’s breath hitched, but he held his ground, blue eyes narrowing. “Claim me? I’m not some prize to be won. If you think I’ll roll over for this, you’ve got another thing coming.”
Eve laughed, a sound like honey dripping over glass, and stepped closer, her scent—something sweet and forbidden—wrapping around him. “Oh, darling, we don’t want you to roll over. We want you to fight. Makes the victory so much sweeter.” Her fingers brushed his cheek, light but electric, sending a shiver down his spine.
Mazikeen leaned in on his other side, her breath hot against his ear. “You feel that, don’t you? The pull. The heat. You’re a beta, Zell, but you’re not powerless. You’ve got us both curious... and hungry.”
Zell’s heart pounded, a mix of defiance and something darker, something primal, stirring in his core. He hated how their words, their presence, made his body react—his skin flushing, his pulse racing. “You think you can just waltz in and own me? I don’t even know you. And I sure as hell don’t want to be your... your breeding stock.”
Mazikeen’s grin widened, sharp and feral. “Breeding stock? Oh, sweetheart, you’ve got it all wrong. This isn’t just about heirs. It’s about desire. Power. And trust me, we’ll make sure you’re begging for more before we’re done.”
Eve’s hand slid down his arm, her touch lingering. “Give us a chance, Zell. One night. No strings, no promises. Just... exploration. If you hate it, walk away. But I think you’ll find we’re very persuasive.”
Zell swallowed hard, his resolve wavering under the weight of their combined allure. He hated how much he wanted to push back, to challenge them, to see just how far this game could go. “One night,” he said finally, voice rough. “But I’m not promising anything. And if you think I’m easy, you’re in for a rude awakening.”
Mazikeen’s eyes flashed with delight. “That’s the spirit. Come with us, little Morningstar. Let’s see how much fire you’ve really got.”
They led him away from the crowd, up a private staircase to a secluded suite above the club. The air was thick with tension, the promise of something wild and untamed. Zell’s mind raced, but his body was already betraying him, a heat pooling low in his belly as Mazikeen pushed open the door, revealing a room bathed in crimson light, a massive bed dominating the space.
Eve turned to him, her smile wicked. “Last chance to run, Zell. But I think you’re too curious for that.”
He smirked, stepping inside, his voice dripping with defiance. “Run? Not my style. Let’s see if you two can keep up.”
Mazikeen laughed, kicking the door shut behind them. “Oh, we’ll do more than keep up. We’ll have you sweating, panting, and so damn horny you won’t know which way is up.”
As they closed in, their hands roaming with bold intent, Zell felt the first sparks of something dangerous ignite. Mazikeen’s fingers traced the line of his jaw, while Eve’s lips hovered just above his, teasing. He could feel himself getting hard, the tension coiling tight, and he knew this night was about to explode into something he couldn’t control—but damn if he wasn’t ready to fight for every inch of it.
