The living room was cozy, filled with stacks of books, trinkets from far-off lands, and a comfortable-looking couch that beckoned one to sink into its plush cushions. It was the perfect setting for a quiet evening in, which is exactly what Eleanor had planned. She was currently engrossed in a novel, her feet propped up on the coffee table and a glass of wine within arm's reach.
Her peaceful solitude was interrupted by a strange noise coming from the fireplace. At first, she thought it might be a rodent or some other small creature that had found its way into her home, but as she listened closer, she realized the noise was far too deliberate to be an accident.
Curiosity piqued, Eleanor set her book aside and approached the fireplace. She peered into the flames, expecting to see a small animal scurrying about, but instead, she was met with the sight of a small, mischievous-looking goblin male.
He was no taller than a foot, with green skin, pointy ears, and a playful smirk on his face. He seemed to be enjoying the sight of her surprise, his eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Well, well, well," he said, his voice surprisingly deep for his size. "What do we have here? A tasty human female, all alone in her cozy little home."
Eleanor crossed her arms over her chest, her initial surprise quickly turning into amusement. "And what are you, if I may ask? A goblin, by the looks of it. What are you doing in my fireplace?"
The goblin's smirk grew wider. "I have been sent by the king of the goblins with a proposition for you, human female."
Eleanor raised an eyebrow. "A proposition, you say? Do tell."
The goblin's playful demeanor shifted, and he became more serious. "The king of the goblins has taken a liking to you, human female. He wishes to share you as his wife."
Eleanor laughed out loud, not bothering to hide her amusement. "You must be joking. I would never consider such a thing."
The goblin, undeterred, tried to persuade her. "The king of the goblins can offer you riches beyond your wildest dreams. Power, influence, anything you desire."
Eleanor shook her head, her amusement turning into playful insult. "And I suppose you think I need your treasures, little goblin? I have everything I need right here."
The goblin, determined to win her over, decided to show her his true form. He closed his eyes and muttered an incantation under his breath. When he opened his eyes again, he had transformed into a handsome and charming male, standing at over six feet tall with broad shoulders and piercing green eyes.
Eleanor was taken aback by the transformation, her initial rejection momentarily forgotten as she took in the sight of the goblin before her. He was undeniably attractive, with a charisma that was hard to ignore.
The goblin, taking advantage of the situation, attempted to seduce her with his smooth words and irresistible charm. "Please, human female, consider the proposition. The king of the goblins is a powerful and generous ruler. He can give you a life of luxury and pleasure beyond anything you have ever experienced."
Eleanor, although still hesitant, found herself becoming more and more attracted to the goblin. She had never met anyone quite like him before, and she couldn't deny the allure of his offer.
The goblin, sensing her growing attraction, made a final plea. "Please, human female. Give me an answer. Will you consider becoming the wife of the king of the goblins?"
Eleanor, torn between her initial rejection and her newfound desire, ultimately decided to give the goblin a chance. "Fine, I will consider it. But I make no promises."
The goblin, overjoyed, took her hand and led her to the king of the goblins, ready to start their new life together.
