Hong Kong Heat: Blackmailing the Untouchable Matriarch

### Chapter One: The Forbidden Glance

The air in Changi Airport buzzed with the frenetic energy of travelers—backpacks slung over shoulders, suitcases rolling with purpose, and the constant hum of announcements in multiple languages echoing through the terminal. Jun trailed behind Nicole and Angeline, his gaze snagged on the latter as she marched ahead with the authority of a general leading troops into battle. Angeline’s conservative blouse and knee-length skirt were a feeble attempt at modesty; the fabric clung to her curvaceous frame, accentuating the powerful sway of her hips and the thick, sculpted thighs that seemed to command the very ground she walked on. Jun’s throat tightened, his mind already dipping into dangerous waters.

“Jun, stop daydreaming and grab my extra bag!” Angeline’s voice sliced through the crowd, sharp as a whip. Her dark eyes pinned him from over her shoulder, lips pursed in that no-nonsense way that made his pulse quicken for reasons he couldn’t quite admit out loud.

“Yes, ma’am,” Jun replied with a mock salute, jogging to catch up. He hefted her overstuffed carry-on, the weight of it nothing compared to the burden of his wandering thoughts. “Anything else, General Angeline? Shall I polish your boots while I’m at it?”

She didn’t miss a beat, her glare withering. “Keep talking, Jun, and I’ll have you polishing the airport floor with that cheeky grin of yours. Move it.”

Nicole, blissfully unaware of the undercurrent crackling between them, spun around with her phone raised high, snapping a selfie with the glittering Jewel waterfall in the background. “Oh my God, you guys, look at this! I’m totally posting this with the caption ‘Changi slay.’ We’re gonna eat so much dim sum in Hong Kong, I’m already drooling. Jun, aren’t you excited? Har gow, siu mai, char siu bao—”

“Nicole, if I hear one more food item, I’m going to lose my appetite before we even board,” Angeline snapped, though her tone softened ever so slightly for her younger companion. “Focus on getting to the gate. We’re not missing this flight because of your Instagram obsession.”

Nicole pouted but complied, her sneakers squeaking as she hurried ahead. Jun lingered a step behind Angeline, his eyes tracing the curve of her waist as she adjusted her purse strap. He knew he was playing with fire—hell, he could feel the heat already—but the thrill of it was too damn intoxicating.

They reached the gate just as boarding began, and Jun’s mind kicked into overdrive. He needed to sit next to Angeline. Nicole would be too busy with her phone to notice, and Angeline… well, she’d probably skin him alive if she caught on to his game. But that was half the fun, wasn’t it?

As they shuffled down the jetway, Jun fumbled with his boarding pass, feigning clumsiness. “Oh, damn, I think I’ve got the wrong seat number here. Nicole, you’re 23B, right? I’m… uh, 23C? Or is it D?” He bumped lightly into Angeline as he ‘accidentally’ swapped spots with Nicole in the line, ensuring he’d be right beside the older woman.

Angeline’s eyes narrowed, but she said nothing as they filed into the plane. Jun slid into the middle seat of their row, Angeline to his left by the window, Nicole to his right, already engrossed in her playlist. The cabin smelled of recycled air and faint traces of Angeline’s jasmine perfume, a scent that made Jun’s head swim as he buckled in.

He stole a glance at her as she flipped open a glossy magazine, her manicured nails tapping impatiently against the page. Her posture was ramrod straight, every inch of her radiating control. It only made him want to unravel her more.

“Enjoying the view out there?” he ventured, nodding toward the window where the tarmac stretched endlessly. His voice dipped just low enough to carry a hint of suggestion, a smirk tugging at his lips.

Angeline didn’t look up from her magazine, but her lips twitched with something dangerously close to amusement. “If by ‘view’ you mean the asphalt and baggage carts, then sure, Jun. It’s riveting. Almost as riveting as the way you’ve been staring at me since we got to the airport.”

Jun’s smirk faltered, his cheeks warming as he scrambled for a comeback. “I—I wasn’t staring. I was… admiring. There’s a difference, you know.”

“Oh, I know,” she shot back, finally turning her head to fix him with a look that could melt steel. Her dark eyes glinted with a mix of irritation and something else—something that made his stomach flip. “Admiring is what you do at a museum. What you’re doing is gawking like a schoolboy who’s never seen a woman before. Keep your eyes to yourself, or I’ll make sure Nicole hears all about how her boyfriend can’t behave.”

Jun swallowed hard, but the challenge in her tone only stoked the fire in his chest. “Come on, Angeline. You can’t blame a guy for noticing… well, everything. You walk into a room—or an airport—and it’s like the world stops. I’m just paying attention.”

Her brow arched, and for a moment, he thought he’d pushed too far. Then she leaned in slightly, her voice dropping to a low, cutting whisper. “Pay attention to this, Jun: I’m not some little plaything for you to ogle. You want to play games? Fine. But I play to win, and I don’t lose. Remember that.”

She straightened up, returning to her magazine as if nothing had happened, leaving Jun reeling in his seat. His heart pounded, a mix of embarrassment and raw, unfiltered want coursing through him. Nicole, still oblivious, bobbed her head to her music, completely missing the electric tension simmering just inches away.

Jun forced himself to look straight ahead, gripping the armrest as the plane began its taxi. Angeline’s words echoed in his mind, a warning wrapped in velvet. She was a fortress, impenetrable and fierce, but that only made him more determined to find a crack in her walls. The flight to Hong Kong was short, but he had a feeling this game—whatever it was—would be anything but.

As the plane lifted off, he risked one last glance at her profile, the sharp line of her jaw illuminated by the soft cabin light. Obsession, he thought, was a dangerous word. But damn if it didn’t fit.
