The living room of the suburban home was filled with the faint hum of the television as Nick, the fourteen-year-old boy, flipped through the channels. Nick, unable to resist Kaylee's charm, said, "Fine, I'll play. But you have to go first."
Kaylee thought for a moment, then said, "Truth."
Nick asked, "What's the most daring thing you've ever done?"
Kaylee blushed and said, "I snuck out of my house once to go to a party. But I didn't stay long."
Nick raised his eyebrows, impressed. "Wow, that's pretty daring. My turn. Truth or dare?"
Kaylee, with a sly smile, said, "Dare."
Nick's heart skipped a beat. He hadn't expected that. He thought for a moment, then said, "I dare you to read a page from that book you threw at me earlier."
Kaylee's eyes widened, then she started to giggle. "Okay, fine. But you have to read one too."
Nick nodded, and Kaylee flipped to a random page in the book. She started to read, her voice low and husky. Nick felt his face heat up as he listened to her, but he couldn't deny that it was exciting.
