Chapter 1: The Unveiling
Zelldrake Morningstar adjusted his sleek black jacket in the mirror, his piercing blue eyes narrowing with irritation. At eighteen, he was the spitting image of rebellion—blonde hair tousled just enough to look effortlessly sexy, a slim but toned frame that hinted at hidden strength, and a smirk that could charm or infuriate in equal measure. He didn’t want to be here, dragged along by his father, Lucifer, to some pretentious neutral ground for a ‘meet and greet.’ What the hell was that even about? He’d rather be anywhere else—clubbing, flirting, or just brooding in his room with a glass of stolen whiskey.
“Zell, darling, stop pouting. It’s unbecoming of a Morningstar,” Lucifer drawled, his voice a velvet whip as he leaned against the doorway of their penthouse. The Devil himself was dressed impeccably, a dark suit tailored to perfection, his grin both devilish and infuriating. “This is important. Family business, you might say.”
Zell spun around, crossing his arms. “Family business? Since when do I get dragged into your infernal schemes, Dad? I’m not your bloody errand boy. What’s this even about? Some boring diplomatic nonsense?”
Lucifer’s grin widened, a glint of mischief in his eyes. “Oh, it’s far from boring, my boy. Let’s just say it’s… a matter of unions. Preventing a war, keeping the infernal and celestial realms from tearing each other apart. You’ll thank me later.”
Zell scoffed, rolling his eyes. “Thank you? For wasting my Saturday night? Fat chance.”
The neutral ground turned out to be a lavish underground club, hidden beneath the streets of Los Angeles, a place where demons and angels could mingle without bloodshed—mostly. The air was thick with incense and the pulse of dark, seductive music. Zell felt the eyes on him as he entered behind Lucifer, his presence drawing curious and hungry glances. He hated it, the weight of expectation, the whispers of ‘Morningstar heir.’
And then he saw them.
Mazikeen and Eve stood near the bar, an aura of raw power and undeniable allure radiating from them. Maze, with her sharp cheekbones and leather-clad curves, exuded danger and dominance, her dark eyes locking onto Zell with an intensity that made his pulse quicken despite himself. Eve, softer but no less commanding, had a playful smirk on her lips, her golden hair cascading over bare shoulders, her gaze teasing and knowing. They were Alphas—powerful, unyielding, and apparently, his future.
Lucifer clapped a hand on Zell’s shoulder, steering him forward. “Meet your betrothed, son. Mazikeen and Eve. They’ve agreed to this union to seal peace between our factions. And you, my dear beta boy, are the key to it all.”
Zell’s jaw dropped, his mind reeling. “Betrothed? Are you fucking kidding me? I’m not some pawn in your cosmic chess game, Dad! And—wait, both of them? What the hell kind of arrangement is this?”
Maze stepped forward, her boots clicking on the polished floor, a predatory smile curling her lips. “Oh, sweetheart, don’t look so horrified. We’re not here to chain you up—unless you’re into that. This is a partnership. You’re a beta, we’re Alphas, and together, we can stop a war. Plus,” she leaned in, her breath hot against his ear, “I hear betas can be… very accommodating.”
Zell’s cheeks flushed, but he squared his shoulders, refusing to back down. “Accommodating? I’m not some breeding stock for your little peace treaty. I don’t even know you!”
Eve laughed, a sound like honey and sin, stepping closer to flank him on the other side. “Oh, Zell, you’ll get to know us. Intimately. We’re not asking for blind obedience. We want a fight in you. Keeps things… spicy.” Her fingers brushed his arm, sending a jolt through him, and he hated how his body reacted, a traitor to his defiance.
“Spicy?” Zell shot back, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “What is this, a cooking show? I’m not here to be your damn recipe. You think I’ll just roll over because you bat your eyelashes and growl a little?”
Maze’s eyes flashed with amusement and something darker, hungrier. “Growl? Oh, baby, you haven’t heard me growl yet. But stick around, and I’ll show you just how persuasive I can be.”
Lucifer chuckled, stepping back with a flourish. “I’ll leave you three to… negotiate. Play nice, children. Or don’t. I do love a good show.”
Zell glared at his father’s retreating figure, then turned back to the two women who were now circling him like sharks. He wasn’t about to let them think he was easy prey. “Fine. You want to talk? Let’s talk. But I’m not signing up for some infernal marriage without a fight. You want me? Earn me.”
Eve’s smirk grew, her hand sliding to his waist, bold and unapologetic. “Earn you? Oh, honey, we’re going to do more than that. We’re going to make you beg for it.”
Maze’s hand found his jaw, tilting his face to meet her gaze, her touch firm but electric. “You’ve got fire, kid. I like that. Let’s see how long it takes to turn that fire into something… hotter.”
Zell’s breath hitched, his defiance warring with the heat pooling in his core. He could feel the tension building, the air crackling between them. They were close—too close—and he could smell the leather and jasmine on Maze, the sweet musk of Eve. His body was betraying him, responding to their dominance, their raw, unfiltered desire. He was hard already, damn it, and they hadn’t even done anything yet.
“Keep dreaming,” he managed, his voice rougher than he intended. “I’m not some toy for you to play with.”
“Oh, we don’t play with toys,” Maze purred, her lips brushing the shell of his ear. “We break them. And then we put them back together, piece by sweaty, panting piece.”
Eve’s hand slid lower, teasing at the edge of his waistband, her voice a sultry whisper. “Feel that, Zell? That’s just the start. Imagine us, all of us, tangled up, dripping with need. You won’t be able to resist.”
Zell’s resolve wavered as his mind spun with images—hot, forbidden, and far too tempting. He could almost feel the weight of them against him, the heat of their bodies, the wet, desperate friction. His cock twitched in his jeans, and he cursed inwardly. He wasn’t going to give in—not yet. But as Maze’s lips hovered over his, and Eve’s fingers danced dangerously close to where he ached, he knew this was only the beginning of a battle he might not want to win.
And somewhere, deep down, he was already horny as hell for what came next.
