The sun hung lazily in the sky, casting a golden glow over the meadow. Wildflowers danced in the gentle breeze, and bees buzzed busily from bloom to bloom. It was the perfect setting for a gathering of goddesses.
Brigitte was the first to arrive, her basket laden with an assortment of sweet treats. She settled into the soft grass, her laughter ringing out as Hera, Amphimtrite, and Persephone appeared, each with their own offerings.
"Brigitte, you look radiant as ever," Hera said, her eyes twinkling.
"And you, Hera, are the very picture of grace," Brigitte replied, genuinely meaning it.
After exchanging compliments and greetings, they settled into a cozy circle. Brigitte, always the one to bring up serious topics, turned the conversation towards their children.
Hera's face lit up as she described Jason's first steps. "He toddled towards Zeus with a mischievous grin, as if he knew he was about to steal his father's thunder."
Amphimtrite laughed, sharing a story of Perseus's first words. "He came out with a string of curse words he'd picked up from his father. I couldn't help but be proud - he's already got Poseidon's quick wit."
Persephone rolled her eyes, relaying how Nico and Bianca had both spoken their first words at the same time, in perfect unison. "It was adorable, but also a little terrifying. I have a feeling they're going to be trouble, just like their father."
Brigitte giggled and recounted Solace's first steps. "He stumbled and fell right into a pile of candy. Apollo was too busy playing his lyre to notice, but Solace didn't seem to mind. He was just happy to be covered in sweets."
The goddesses shared a playful laugh at the image of Solace covered in treats. Hera playfully insulted Zeus, joking that he was more impressed by Jason's first thunderstorm than his first steps. Amphimtrite chipped in, poking fun at her husband for being too busy fishing to notice Perseus's milestones. Persephone snarked about how Hades was too busy ruling the underworld to care about Nico and Bianca's first moments. Brigitte chuckled and agreed, saying that Apollo was too busy playing his lyre to pay attention to Solace.
The goddesses continued to share stories and laugh, enjoying each other's company and commiserating over the challenges of motherhood. As the sun began to set, they reluctantly bid farewell, promising to meet again soon.
Brigitte watched as the other goddesses disappeared, feeling grateful for the strong, controlling, and direct women in her life. She turned her attention back to Solace, who was happily playing in the candy-strewn grass. Despite the chaos of their lives, they had found a moment of peace in each other's company. And for that, Brigitte was eternally grateful.
