Lightning's Lovechild: A Battle of Wits, Wills, and Unbridled Passion

Chapter One: A Father’s Fury

The Temple of Athena was a sight to behold, a magnificent testament to the goddess of war and wisdom’s power and influence. Its marble columns stretched towards the heavens, and intricate carvings adorned every surface. Athena herself stood before a statue of her father, Zeus, her heart heavy with worry. She ran her fingers through her brown hair, her mind racing as she contemplated how to break the news to him.

Before she could even begin to formulate a plan, Zeus appeared before her, his eyes blazing with anger. “Athena, I have been informed of your disgraceful behavior,” he boomed, causing the very walls of the temple to shake.

Athena took a deep breath and steadied herself, meeting her father’s gaze directly. “Yes, father, I am pregnant with twins,” she said, her voice strong and steady despite the turmoil in her heart.

Zeus’s anger intensified, if that was even possible. “Who is the father of your children?” he demanded, his voice thundering through the temple.

Athena hesitated for a moment before admitting, “Hercules, father.”

With a roar, Zeus struck Athena with a bolt of lightning, causing her to crumple to the ground. She lay there, stunned and in pain, as her father’s fury rained down upon her.

When Athena came to, she was lying on a bed in the temple. She groaned and sat up, wincing at the pain in her side. She was surprised to see Apollo, the god of the sun and prophecy, enter the temple.

“Athena, I have come to check on your babies,” he said, his voice gentle and soothing.

Athena tried to sit up, but Apollo gently pushed her back down. “Rest, Athena. I will examine you,” he said, his hands glowing with a warm, golden light.

Apollo placed his hands on Athena’s belly and closed his eyes, his expression one of deep concentration. After a few moments, he opened his eyes and smiled. “Your babies are strong and healthy,” he said, his voice filled with relief and joy.

Athena sighed in relief, her own smile wide and grateful. “Thank you, Apollo. I was worried about them after father’s reaction,” she said, her voice filled with emotion.

Apollo raised an eyebrow, his own smile widening. “Yes, I can imagine. Zeus is not known for his calm demeanor,” he said, a hint of amusement in his voice.

Athena snorted, her own smile turning into a grin. “That’s an understatement. He demanded I get an abortion, but I refused,” she said, her voice filled with defiance.

Apollo’s smile widened even further. “Ah, that sounds like the Athena I know and love. Strong, controlling, and direct,” he said, his voice filled with admiration.

Athena grinned, her heart swelling with pride. “Yes, well, I learned from the best,” she said, winking at him.

Apollo chuckled, his eyes twinkling with amusement. “Indeed you did, my dear. Indeed you did,” he said, his voice filled with warmth and affection.
