The Temple of Athena was a sight to behold, a marvel of ancient architecture and a sanctuary of wisdom and war. Athena, the goddess of war and wisdom herself, sat on her throne, running her fingers through her brown hair as she contemplated the recent discovery of her pregnancy with twins. A wave of emotions washed over her - surprise, joy, and a hint of fear. She was the goddess of war, after all, not the goddess of motherhood.
Her contemplation was interrupted by a booming voice that echoed through the temple. “Athena!” The voice was that of her father, Zeus, the king of the gods. His face was thunderous, and Athena knew she was in for a storm of anger.
“Father,” Athena greeted, standing up to face him. “What brings you to my temple?”
Zeus’s eyes narrowed. “I have heard rumors of your pregnancy. Who is the father of your children?”
Athena took a deep breath before responding, “Hercules, father. He is the father of my twins.”
Zeus’s face turned an even darker shade of purple as he demanded, “You will get an abortion at once! This is an outrage!”
Athena stood her ground, her eyes flashing with determination. “I will not. These are my children, and I will not harm them.”
Zeus raised his hand, and a bolt of lightning shot towards Athena. She quickly raised her shield, but the force of the blow sent her crashing to the ground. She lay there, dazed, as she heard Zeus’s voice one last time, “You have brought shame upon the gods. You are no longer welcome in Olympus.”
With a clap of thunder, Zeus disappeared, leaving Athena alone and abandoned. She groggily got to her feet, clutching her belly as she looked around the temple. She heard a gentle voice calling her name and turned to see Apollo, the god of the sun, standing in the doorway.
“Athena, are you alright?” he asked, concern etched on his face.
Athena nodded, “Yes, I will be fine. But I need to know if my babies are okay.”
Apollo nodded and placed a hand on her belly, closing his eyes in concentration. After a few moments, he opened his eyes and smiled, “Your twins are strong and healthy. They will be great warriors, just like their mother.”
Athena couldn’t help but smile at the news, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. She knew she had a long road ahead, but she was determined to face it head-on. She would not let her father’s anger or her own circumstances define her or her children’s future. She was Athena, goddess of war and wisdom, and she would not be defeated.
She turned to Apollo, her eyes shining with determination. “Thank you, Apollo. I will need your help in the days to come.”
Apollo nodded, “You have my sword, Athena. We will face this together.”
Athena smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude towards her fellow god. She knew she could count on him in the days to come. She took a deep breath and looked around her temple, feeling a sense of resolve. She was not alone, and she would not back down. She was a warrior, and she would fight for her children, no matter what the cost.
