The bell rang, echoing through the halls of the high school, as Anka sprinted towards her chemistry classroom. She was late, as usual, and the fear of detention was a constant motivator for her to move her long legs faster. She pushed open the door just as Mr. Thompson, their chemistry teacher, was about to begin his lesson.
"Ah, Anka, just in time," Mr. Thompson announced, his voice dripping with sarcasm. His bushy eyebrows bounced up and down as he spoke, and his glasses perched precariously on the edge of his nose. "Today, we'll be working with a special serum that can shrink matter. Be very careful, children."
Anka rolled her eyes at the warning and clumsily gathered the materials she needed for the experiment. In her haste, she accidentally knocked over the glass vial containing the serum. A white-bluish fog filled the room, and Anka's classmates and teacher began to shrink before her very eyes.
"Oh my god!" Anka gasped, her hands flying to her mouth. She scooped up the shrunken people and placed them on a teacher's desk, while they cursed and shouted at her.
"What have you done, you clumsy oaf?" one of her classmates, a boy named Jake, yelled.
"I-I don't know," Anka stuttered, her eyes wide with shock. She quickly pulled out her phone and texted her younger sister, Marycka, asking her to come help with something.
Marycka arrived a few minutes later, her bratty nature on full display. She was amazed by the sight of the shrunken people, but that didn't stop her from having some fun with them. She scares and taunted them, and even pretended to eat a few.
"This is hilarious!" Marycka giggled, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
The tiny people slipped from her grip and accidentally fell into her mouth. Marycka instinctively swallowed them, causing her to choke and gag.
"Oh no!" Marycka panicked, her eyes wide with fear. She tried to catch the remaining shrunken people, who were scattering in terror. She managed to scoop up a few more and crushed some under her feet, before swallowing the rest whole.
Marycka grinned and patted her belly, feeling it gurgle and churn with the tiny people inside.
"No one will ever know," she chuckled to herself, thinking she'd gotten away with it.
Anka returned to the classroom, unaware of the fate of the shrunken people and the chaos that had ensued in her absence.
"Marycka, where are the shrunken people?" Anka asked, her voice shaking.
Marycka's eyes widened, but she quickly regained her composure.
"I-I don't know," she stammered. "They must have escaped."
Anka nodded, not suspecting a thing.
But little did they know, the tiny people were now a part of Marycka, and they would never be the same again.
