Karen took a sip, her eyes glinting with amusement. 'Good. I want Chloe and Ryan to dive headfirst into this. No half-measures. They’ve got our blood—let’s see if they’ve got our fire.' She stepped closer, her hand brushing against Gary’s chest. 'Speaking of fire, you gonna behave tonight, or do I need to remind you who runs this show?'

Gary chuckled, his voice low and rough. 'Babe, you know I’m all yours—until someone else catches my eye. Then it’s game on.' He leaned in, his breath hot against her ear. 'Bet I can make you wet before the first guest even rings the doorbell.'

'Oh, you’re on, big boy,' Karen shot back, her fingers trailing down his arm. 'But don’t think I’ll make it easy. I’ve got plans of my own tonight.'

The doorbell chimed, cutting through their charged banter. Karen smirked, stepping back. 'Saved by the bell. Let’s see who’s first to the party.'

It was the Carters—David, Lisa, and their daughter Emily, who strutted in with a confidence that belied her age. Lisa laughed, a throaty sound that promised trouble. 'Oh, Karen, you know me. I’m just here to play. David’s already bet me I can’t seduce your Ryan before midnight. Care to up the stakes?'

'Only if I get to watch,' Karen replied, her voice smooth as silk. 'I’ve got a front-row seat in mind.'
