Mafia Vows and Midnight Desks: A Tale of Reluctant Love and Lustful Contracts

### Chapter One: The Sighting

The afternoon sun cast a warm glow over the bustling university campus, where students hurried between classes, their laughter and chatter filling the air. Ethan Volkov, a notorious Russian mafia boss, strode confidently through the crowd, his presence commanding yet discreet. Under the guise of a guest lecture on business management, he was here to scout new talent for his empire. But as he walked, his eyes caught something—or rather, someone—that made him pause.

Under a sprawling oak tree, a young man sat engrossed in a book, his brow furrowed in concentration. Ethan's breath hitched as he took in the sight of Mark, the university student whose beauty and apparent intelligence struck him like a bolt of lightning. Ridiculous, he thought, feeling an intense, almost laughable love at first sight.

"Am I turning into a hopeless romantic?" Ethan muttered to himself, a wry smile playing on his lips.

His bodyguard, Ivan, who had been trailing a few steps behind, caught the comment and smirked. "Boss, falling for a bookish boy now? That's a new one."

Ethan shot him a playful glare. "Keep it up, Ivan, and you'll find yourself demoted to coffee runs."

Ivan chuckled, knowing better than to push his luck further. Ethan's attention was already back on Mark, and he couldn't resist the urge to approach him. With a confident stride, he closed the distance and stood before the young man, who looked up, startled.

"Interesting read?" Ethan asked, his voice smooth and charming as he nodded towards the book in Mark's hands.

Mark blinked, taking in the imposing figure before him. "Uh, yeah. It's 'The Art of War' by Sun Tzu. Are you a fan?"

Ethan grinned, sitting down beside him without waiting for an invitation. "I've been known to appreciate a good strategy. But tell me, what does a young mind like yours find in its pages?"

Mark hesitated for a moment, then warmed up to Ethan's charismatic approach. "It's fascinating how timeless the principles are. You can apply them to almost anything—business, politics, even personal life."

Ethan leaned in, intrigued by Mark's passion. "You sound like you could teach a class on it. In fact, why don't you marry me right now, and we can discuss it over breakfast every morning?"

Mark burst into laughter, shaking his head. "That's the most ridiculous proposal I've ever heard. We just met!"

"True, but I'm a man who knows what he wants," Ethan replied, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "And right now, I want to know more about the brilliant mind behind those beautiful eyes."

Mark blushed slightly but didn't back down. "Well, if you're so interested, you'll have to prove you're more than just charm and money."

Ethan's interest piqued even further. "A challenge? I like that. Consider it accepted."

As they continued to banter, Ivan stepped forward, clearing his throat. "Boss, we have a schedule to keep."

Ethan waved him off dismissively. "Schedule can wait. This is far more entertaining."

Mark watched the exchange with amusement. "You're really dedicated, aren't you?"

"For you? Absolutely," Ethan replied, his tone teasing yet sincere. "How about we continue this over coffee later? My treat."

Mark considered it for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, I'll give you a chance to impress me. But don't think it'll be easy."

"Wouldn't dream of it," Ethan said, his smile widening as he watched Mark gather his things and stand up. "Until then, Mark."

As Mark walked away, Ethan's mind was already racing with plans to win him over completely. Marriage papers, he thought with a smirk. This is going to be fun.

With a confident grin, Ethan turned to Ivan, ready to embark on his most personal and humorous conquest yet.
