The bar was dimly lit, casting long shadows over the patrons as they nursed their drinks. Matvey and Nina sat at a corner table, the distance between them growing with each passing minute.
Matvey leaned back in his chair, his eyes raking over Nina's figure. "You know, Nina, you're looking mighty fine tonight," he said, a lecherous grin spreading across his face.
Nina rolled her eyes, used to Matvey's outdated views on women. "Oh, please. Don't tell me you're one of those Neanderthals who thinks women are only good for one thing."
Matvey scoffed, his ego bruised. "I know what I want, and I'm not afraid to go after it."
Nina raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? And what is it that you want, Matvey?"
Matvey leaned forward, reaching across the table to grab Nina's hand. "I think you know exactly what I want."
Nina pulled her hand away, chiding him for his aggressive behavior. "Matvey, you're being ridiculous. We're just friends."
Matvey insisted that he was being assertive, but Nina saw right through his facade. She stood up, ready to leave.
"Nina, don't be like that," Matvey pleaded, trying to stop her.
Nina refused, reminding Matvey of their friendship and his inappropriate behavior. "Matvey, we've been friends for years. I thought you respected me more than this."
Matvey became more insistent, blocking Nina's path. Nina stood her ground, refusing to back down.
"Matvey, I'm serious. You need to back off," Nina warned, her voice growing cold.
Matvey ignored her warning, pulling Nina closer. Nina struggled, trying to break free.
Matvey's grip tightened, his intentions becoming clear. Nina's eyes widened in fear, realizing that Matvey's "playful" banter had taken a dark turn.
Nina fought back, kneeing Matvey in the groin and escaping his grasp. She ran out of the bar, leaving Matvey panting on the floor.
Matvey lay there, stunned by Nina's rejection. He realized that he'd crossed a line, and that their friendship may be irreparably damaged.
Nina hailed a cab, still shaken by the encounter. She reflected on Matvey's behavior, vowing to never put herself in that situation again.
Matvey stumbled out of the bar, trying to collect himself. He knew that he'd lost Nina's trust, and that he may have lost her as a friend.
Nina arrived home, still on edge. She took a long shower, washing away the memory of Matvey's unwanted advance. She fell asleep, determined to move on from the incident.
As the night wore on, Nina knew that things would never be the same between her and Matvey. She'd stood up for herself, and she wasn't about to let anyone take that away from her.
