Medusa groaned, her head pounding as she slowly pried her eyes open. The muscular figure next to her was still asleep, his chest rising and falling rhythmically. She took a moment to study him - Poseidon, the god of the sea. A smirk tugged at the corners of her lips as she recalled the previous night's events. It wasn't every day she got to tangle with a god.
With a groan, she sat up, nudging Poseidon gently with her elbow. "Hey, you. Wake up. Time for you to leave." Her voice was firm, devoid of any lingering sleepiness. She had a strict 'no gods allowed' policy in her bed, and it was time for him to abide by it.
Poseidon stirred, mumbling incoherently as he tried to rub the sleep from his eyes. "Do I have to leave so soon?" he asked, his voice thick with sleep.
Medusa rolled her green eyes, replying, "Yes, you do. I have a strict 'no gods allowed' policy in my bed." She was unafraid, her tone sharp and direct. She had nothing to fear from him, not after the night they'd shared.
Poseidon chuckled, trying to pull her back into bed. "Well, you seemed to enjoy it. I could name three instances right now." His confidence was oozing from every pore, his voice dripping with arrogance.
Medusa smirked, challenging him. "Oh really? I'd love to hear these instances." She was baiting him, her curiosity piqued.
Poseidon was more than happy to oblige. "First, when you wrapped your snakes around me. Second, when you purred like a kitten. Third, when you-"
Medusa cut him off, raising a hand. "Alright, alright. I get the picture." She didn't need a play-by-play of their night together. She knew exactly what he was insinuating.
She got out of bed, wrapping a silk robe around her. "You should go now," she said, her tone softer now. She didn't want to be rude, but it was time for him to leave.
Poseidon, reluctantly, started getting dressed. "You're no fun, Medusa," he grumbled, but there was a smile on his face.
Medusa, playfully insulting him, retorted, "And you're no snake charmer, Poseidon." She couldn't help but tease him, even as she ushered him towards the exit.
Poseidon, laughing, headed towards the cave's entrance. "I'll remember that," he called over his shoulder.
Medusa, watching him leave, smiled. She couldn't deny it - it had been quite a night. But as Poseidon disappeared from sight, she shook her head. "Never again," she whispered to herself. She knew she was lying to herself, but for now, she needed to believe it.
