Midnight Milk: When Akane's Uninvited Guest Gets an Eye(full) of Motherhood

Chapter One: Awkward Milkshake

The first rays of sunlight were just beginning to peek through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the small apartment. Akane, still half-asleep, stumbled out of her bedroom and towards the nursery, her movements slow and groggy. She could hear the faint cries of her baby son, and her heart swelled with love and exhaustion.

As she entered the room, she gently picked up her son and settled into the rocking chair, pulling her shirt up and offering her breast to him. He latched on immediately, his tiny mouth working eagerly as he drank. Akane couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and love as she watched him, even as her body ached from the lack of sleep.

But her peaceful moment was interrupted by the sound of the nursery door creaking open. She looked up to see Gil, her mother's new boyfriend, standing in the doorway. He was a slimy man, with greasy hair and a smarmy smile. Akane had never trusted him, and she felt a sense of unease as he approached her.

"Well, well, well," he said, his voice low and creepy. "Isn't this a sight for sore eyes?"

Akane felt her skin crawl as he leaned over her, whispering sweet nothings to her son. She tried to cover herself as best she could, her body tense with discomfort.

"You know, Akane," Gil said, his eyes raking over her body. "You look so natural like this. It's really quite a sight."

Akane snapped at him, her patience worn thin. "Thanks, Gil. I'll add that to my list of selling points."

Gil chuckled, not taking the hint. He continued to stand there, watching Akane as she fed her son. She felt violated, her personal space invaded. Finally, she had had enough.

"What do you want, Gil?" she asked, her voice sharp.

"Just wanted to check on the little one," he said, his smile never faltering.

Akane knew he was lying. She decided to confront her mother about his inappropriate behavior, but as she made her way to her mother's room, she found her passed out, a bottle of alcohol next to her. Akane sighed, frustrated. She couldn't talk to her mother in this state.

She contemplated kicking Gil out, but she knew it wouldn't solve the bigger issue. She needed to find a way to support her family better. She decided to focus on her job and saving money, determined to protect her son.

As she headed back to the nursery, she couldn't help but feel a sense of determination. She would not let Gil or anyone else intimidate her. She was a strong, controlling woman, and she would do whatever it took to protect her family.
