Midnight Whispers

Midnight Whispers

Chapter 1: Under the Covers

The dormitory was cloaked in the heavy silence of midnight, the kind of quiet that amplifies every rustle and whisper. Kaiyuan lay on the top bunk, staring at the ceiling, his mind restless. Below him, Lijia—known affectionately as 'Little Head' for reasons that had nothing to do with his intellect—shifted in his bed, the creak of the mattress cutting through the stillness.

'Kaiyuan,' Lijia’s voice floated up, soft but insistent, laced with a vulnerability that made Kaiyuan’s chest tighten. 'You awake?'

'Yeah, man. Can’t sleep either?' Kaiyuan propped himself on an elbow, peering down into the dimness where Lijia’s silhouette barely emerged from the shadows.

'Not really. It’s... lonely down here.' Lijia’s tone dipped, a subtle invitation wrapped in hesitation. 'Why don’t you come keep me company for a bit? Just for a while.'

Kaiyuan smirked, catching the undercurrent. Lijia was deep in the closet, always dancing around what he wanted with coy hints and shy glances. But Kaiyuan knew the game well. 'What, you need a bedtime story, Little Head? Or something a bit more... hands-on?'

Lijia chuckled, a nervous edge to it. 'Don’t be crass. Just... get down here, alright? I don’t bite. Unless you ask nicely.'

That was enough for Kaiyuan. He swung his legs over the edge of the bunk, dropping down with a quiet thud. The other roommates were dead to the world, their snores a steady rhythm in the background. Kaiyuan slid under Lijia’s blanket, the heat of their proximity already sparking something primal between them.

'So, what’s this about, huh?' Kaiyuan murmured, his voice low, teasing as he pressed closer, their thighs brushing. 'You just wanna cuddle, or are you fishing for something else?'

Lijia turned to face him, his eyes glinting in the faint moonlight seeping through the window. 'Maybe I just need a little... comfort. You know, something to take the edge off.' His hand brushed Kaiyuan’s arm, a deliberate graze that sent a jolt through them both.

'Comfort, huh? I’ve got plenty of that to give.' Kaiyuan’s grin was wicked as he leaned in, his breath hot against Lijia’s ear. 'But you gotta say it, man. I’m not a mind reader.'

Lijia’s cheeks flushed, but his gaze held steady, a quiet strength in his restraint. 'Fine. I want you to... help me out. Down there. But keep it quiet—we’ve got an audience, even if they’re dreaming.'

Kaiyuan’s pulse quickened, the challenge igniting him. 'Oh, I can be real discreet. Just lie back, Little Head. Let me work some magic.'

He slid lower under the covers, the air growing thick with anticipation. Lijia’s breath hitched as Kaiyuan’s hands found their mark, deft and confident. The blanket muffled their movements, but the tension was electric, every touch a silent promise of what was to come. Kaiyuan’s lips hovered, teasing, as Lijia gripped the sheets, his control fraying at the edges.

'Damn, Kaiyuan,' Lijia whispered, voice tight with need. 'You’re gonna make this quick, aren’t you?'

'Only if you can keep that mouth shut,' Kaiyuan shot back, his tone dripping with mischief. 'Wouldn’t want the whole dorm knowing how much you’re enjoying this.'

As the heat built, their world narrowed to the space beneath the blanket, a secret haven of desire and daring. Kaiyuan’s focus sharpened, ready to push Lijia over the edge, both of them teetering on the brink of something explosive.
