Moonlit Majesty: A King's Lust and Peril

### Chapter One: Under the Stars and Under Attack

The dense forest near the castle was a labyrinth of shadows and whispers under the starlit night sky. Jim, the newly crowned king at the tender age of eighteen, navigated the uneven terrain with a lanky stride, his thick Australian accent cutting through the stillness as he chatted animatedly. Beside him, Queen Valentina Cruz moved with the lethal grace of a panther, her brown eyes glinting like polished amber under the moonlight, her black curly hair bouncing with each confident step. She was a force of nature, a fierce Latina whose presence commanded the very air around her.

“Oi, Val, reckon the stars are brighter out here than back in the Outback,” Jim mused, tilting his head back to gaze at the cosmic tapestry above. His voice carried a boyish wonder that made Valentina’s lips twitch into a smirk.

“Brighter than your common sense, maybe,” she shot back, her tone dripping with playful scorn. Her eyes, however, lingered on him a moment too long, drinking in the way the moonlight sculpted his sharp jawline. The air between them crackled with unspoken desire, a magnetic pull that neither could ignore.

They paused by a gnarled oak, its ancient branches stretching toward the heavens. Jim’s gaze dropped from the stars to Valentina, a mischievous glint in his green eyes. “Y’know, love, we’ve got the whole forest to ourselves. How ‘bout we make this night a bit more... memorable?” He waggled his eyebrows, stepping closer, his voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. “Fancy bracin’ yourself against that tree there?”

Valentina threw her head back and laughed, the sound rich and unrestrained, echoing through the trees. “Ay, Dios mío, Jim, you’ve got the nerve of a bull and the body of a scrawny kangaroo. Those legs of yours gonna hold up, or am I carryin’ you back to the castle?” Her insult was sharp, but the wicked smirk curling her full lips told him she was game. She sauntered over to the tree, casting a daring look over her shoulder. “Well? Don’t just stand there gawkin’, mi rey. Show me what a king’s made of.”

Jim grinned, a predator’s edge to his smile as he closed the distance. Their banter dissolved into raw, electric passion as Valentina braced her hands against the rough bark, her curves pressing back against him. Jim took charge, his hands firm on her hips, their laughter mingling with breathless moans that danced through the forest like forbidden music. The cool night air kissed their heated skin as they moved together, lost in the primal rhythm of desire.

As they reached their peak, Jim’s breath hitched, and he finished inside her, their bodies trembling with the aftershocks of ecstasy. They lingered there, panting, their breaths mingling with the scent of pine and earth. Valentina turned her head slightly, her voice husky. “Not bad, kangaroo. Might keep you around after all.”

Jim chuckled, brushing a sweaty lock of hair from her face. “Reckon I’ve earned my crown tonight, eh, love?”

Their post-coital bliss shattered like glass as a masked figure emerged from the shadows, a silver blade gleaming in the moonlight. The air turned cold with menace, and Valentina’s instincts kicked in before Jim even registered the threat. “Jim, move! That blade—it’s silver!” Her voice was sharp, a commander’s bark, as she stepped in front of him, her body a shield of fierce determination.

Jim, however, brushed off the danger with a cocky smirk. “I’ve got this, love. No masked wanker’s gonna ruin my night.” He pushed past her just as the attacker lunged—not at him, but at Valentina. The blade arced toward her, and Jim’s reflexes snapped into action. He threw himself forward, his hand intercepting the strike. The silver sliced into his flesh, and he winced, gritting his teeth. “Oi, that bloody stings, mate!”

Blood dripped onto the forest floor, but Jim didn’t falter. With a swift, powerful punch, he sent the attacker sprawling, the masked man crumpling to the ground, out cold. Jim shook out his throbbing hand, a wry grin on his face despite the pain. “Reckon he didn’t expect a skinny bloke to pack a wallop, eh?” He hoisted the unconscious man over his shoulder with surprising strength for his wiry frame.

Valentina’s eyes blazed with a mix of fury and concern. “You idiot! What if that blade had hit deeper? Let’s go—now!” Her tone brooked no argument as they hurried back toward the castle, her steps purposeful and unyielding. As they breached the castle gates, she barked orders at the guards. “Bandages! Water! Move your sorry asses before I skin you myself!” The men scrambled to obey, her authority a tangible force.

Inside the castle’s stone walls, Valentina sat Jim down in a dimly lit chamber, her hands firm yet gentle as she cleaned and wrapped his wounded hand. “Reckless dingo brain,” she muttered under her breath, her fingers deftly securing the bandage. Her eyes, though, betrayed her worry, softening as they met his. “You didn’t have to play hero, you know. I can handle my own fights.”

Jim grinned, unfazed by the scolding. “Couldn’t let some bastard nick my queen, could I? Besides, I’m fine. See?” He flexed his hand, and within minutes, the wound began to close, the skin knitting together as if by magic. Valentina raised an eyebrow, her lips pursing in a mix of pride and exasperation.

“Don’t get cocky, Alpha,” she said, her voice laced with a grudging respect. “That’s why you heal like a damn beast. Doesn’t mean you go lookin’ for knives to catch.”

Jim’s grin widened, a glint of mischief in his eyes. “Speakin’ of beasts, let’s go have a chat with our masked mate downstairs. I wanna know who’s got it out for us.” He stood, rolling his shoulders, ready to confront the would-be assassin.

Valentina rolled her eyes, but the steel in her gaze matched his determination. “Fine, but you follow my lead, Jim. I’m not patchin’ you up twice in one night.” She strode ahead, her presence a storm waiting to break, and Jim followed, knowing full well who truly ruled this kingdom—under the stars and under attack.
