Moonlit Miles: A Werewolf's Wild Ride

Moonlit Miles: A Werewolf's Wild Ride

Chapter 1: Dares and Desires on the Open Road

The roar of the 1970 Monte Carlo’s engine hummed through the crisp Washington air as Aerian leaned back in the passenger seat, her black hair whipping in the wind from the cracked window. Her green eyes glinted with mischief, catching the early morning light as she turned to Brandon, her boyfriend of two years. His brown hair was tousled from the drive, and those matching green eyes of his were fixed on the winding road ahead, one hand on the wheel, the other resting casually on the gearshift. The man looked like a damn dream, all broad shoulders and baseball-player grit, and Aerian couldn’t help but smirk at the thought of what she had planned for this road trip to Texas.

“Alright, slugger,” she drawled, her voice low and teasing, kicking off her boots to prop her bare feet on the dashboard. “We’ve got a solid fifteen hours of driving today before we hit Oregon. Truth or dare?”

Brandon shot her a sidelong glance, a grin tugging at his lips. “You’re starting this already? We’re not even out of the state yet.”

“Scared?” Aerian arched a brow, her tone dripping with challenge. “Come on, don’t be a pussy. Pick one.”

He laughed, a deep, rumbling sound that sent a little thrill down her spine. “Fine. Dare. Hit me with your best shot, wolf girl.”

Her lips curled into a wicked smile. “I dare you to pull over at the next scenic spot and belt out ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ at the top of your lungs. Bonus points if you do a little dance.”

Brandon snorted, shaking his head. “You’re ridiculous. But deal.”

Twenty minutes later, they found a pull-off near a cascading waterfall, the mist hanging in the air like a gossamer veil. True to his word, Brandon hopped out, stood on a rock overlooking the falls, and started singing—horribly off-key, with a hip shimmy that had Aerian doubled over in laughter. A few passing hikers clapped, and she wolf-whistled, her eyes glinting with amusement.

“Your turn, babe,” he said, climbing back into the car, his cheeks flushed from the performance. “Truth or dare?”

“Dare,” she shot back without hesitation, crossing her arms over her chest, her leather jacket creaking softly. “Make it good.”

Brandon’s grin turned sly. “I dare you to flash the next trucker we pass. Just a quick peek. Don’t want to cause a pile-up.”

Aerian’s laugh was sharp and wild, her eyes narrowing. “Oh, you’re playing dirty already? Fine. Watch and learn.”

As they merged back onto the highway, she waited until they pulled alongside an eighteen-wheeler. With a quick glance to ensure no one else was in view, she tugged her tank top up, revealing the curve of her breasts for a split second before yanking it back down. The trucker’s horn blared in appreciation, and Brandon nearly swerved, his knuckles white on the wheel.

“Jesus, Aerian,” he muttered, his voice a little rougher now. “You trying to kill us both?”

She smirked, leaning over to pat his thigh, her fingers lingering just a bit too long. “What’s the matter, big guy? Getting a little hot under the collar?”

His jaw tightened, and she caught the way his eyes flicked to her, hungry and playful. “Keep that up, and I’ll pull over right now.”

“Promises, promises,” she purred, settling back into her seat, her pulse already quickening. She could feel the beast inside her stirring, the werewolf blood humming just beneath her skin. Her eyes hadn’t turned gold yet, but damn if she wasn’t close.

Hours passed with more dares—innocent at first, like eating questionable truck stop snacks or skinny-dipping in a secluded creek. But as the sun dipped lower, casting golden hues over the Oregon landscape, the game took a sharper edge. At a quiet rest stop surrounded by towering pines, Brandon dared her to strip down to her underwear and run a lap around the car. She did it without flinching, her toned body catching the fading light as she laughed, daring him to do the same. He did, and the sight of his muscled frame in nothing but boxers had her biting her lip, a low growl rumbling in her throat.

“Truth or dare?” she asked, her voice husky now as they leaned against the Monte Carlo, the cool metal pressing into her bare thighs.

“Dare,” Brandon replied, his own voice dropping an octave, his gaze locked on hers.

Aerian stepped closer, her breath warm against his ear as she whispered, “I dare you to kiss me like you mean it. Right here. Right now.”

His hands were on her in an instant, rough and urgent, pulling her against him as his mouth crashed into hers. The kiss was all heat and teeth, a clash of want that had her claws itching to come out. Her eyes flickered gold, the arousal surging through her like wildfire, and she could feel him, hard against her hip, the evidence of his own desire pressing insistently through the thin fabric of his boxers.

“Fuck, Aerian,” he growled against her lips, his hands sliding down to grip her ass, pulling her tighter. “You’re gonna be the death of me.”

“Not if I get you first,” she shot back, her nails digging into his shoulders as she nipped at his jaw. Her body was on fire, wet heat pooling between her thighs, and she knew they were seconds away from tearing into each other right there in the open air. The distant sound of a car engine reminded her they weren’t entirely alone, but she didn’t care. Not when she could feel his cock straining for her, not when she was already dripping with need.

His hand slipped under her waistband, fingers teasing, and she gasped, her head tipping back as she panted, “Don’t stop. Don’t you dare fucking stop.”

And he didn’t. Not until they were both sweating, breathless, and on the edge of something explosive, hidden just out of sight behind the car, ready to let the road trip—and their desires—take them wherever the hell they wanted.
