Neon Lust: A Cyberpunk Affair

Neon Lust: A Cyberpunk Affair

Chapter 1: Electric Encounters

In the underbelly of Neon City, where the glow of holographic billboards painted the night in shades of electric blue and crimson, Ada Vex prowled the streets like a panther in heat. A mercenary with a rap sheet longer than the skyline, she was all sharp edges and sharper wit, her cybernetic arm glinting under the flickering streetlights. Her world was one of grit and gunfire, a far cry from the sterile corpo towers where Ralph Nexus spent his days hacking into systems that could buy and sell entire districts.

They collided—quite literally—at a dive bar called The Chrome Pulse, a place where the air was thick with synth-smoke and desperation. Ada was nursing a glass of cheap synth-whiskey when Ralph, all sleek suits and nervous energy, bumped into her, spilling her drink across the bar.

'Watch it, corpo boy,' Ada snapped, her voice a low growl, eyes narrowing as she sized him up. 'You gonna buy me another, or do I have to carve the creds outta your pretty little chip?'

Ralph smirked, adjusting his optic visor with a flick of his wrist. 'Only if you promise not to stab me with that shiny arm of yours. I’m more valuable alive, trust me. Name’s Ralph. And you’re… trouble, I’m guessing?'

Ada leaned in, her lips curling into a dangerous smile, the scent of her leather jacket mixing with the tang of whiskey on her breath. 'Trouble’s my middle name, slick. Ada Vex. And I don’t trust anyone who looks like they’ve never seen the wrong side of a dumpster. What’s a corpo like you doing in a shithole like this?'

'Looking for someone with… skills,' Ralph replied, his voice dropping an octave, eyes scanning her with a mix of curiosity and something hotter. 'I’ve got a job. High risk, high reward. Thought a street rat like you might be hungry for it.'

'Street rat?' Ada laughed, sharp and biting, slamming her empty glass down. 'Keep talking like that, and I’ll show you just how hungry I can get. But fine, I’m listening. What’s the gig?'

They moved to a shadowed booth, the bass of the bar’s glitch-hop pounding through their bones. As Ralph laid out the details—a data heist on a megacorp server, one that could set them both up for life—Ada felt a different kind of heat building. His confidence, the way his fingers danced over his holo-pad as he showed her the schematics, it was doing things to her she hadn’t expected. She wasn’t some damsel to be charmed, but damn if his nerdy intensity didn’t make her curious.

'So, you in?' Ralph asked, leaning closer, his breath warm against her ear. 'Or do I need to sweeten the deal?'

Ada’s eyes glinted with mischief as she grabbed his tie, pulling him in until their lips were a whisper apart. 'Oh, I’m in, corpo. But let’s get one thing straight—I don’t play nice, and I don’t take orders. You want me on this job, you’d better keep up. And if you’re lucky, I might just show you how a real woman handles business.'

Ralph’s smirk widened, a spark of challenge in his gaze. 'I’m counting on it, Vex. Let’s see if you can handle me.'

The tension crackled like a live wire between them, and as Ada’s hand slid up his thigh under the table, her cybernetic fingers teasingly firm, she knew this partnership was about to get messy in all the right ways. The bar faded into a blur of neon and noise as they stumbled toward the back alley, her body pressed against his, hungry and unapologetic. She could feel him, hard against her hip, and a wicked grin spread across her face. This was going to be one hell of a ride.
