Nerd's Naughty Lesson

### Chapter One: Nerds Need Love Too

The living room of Fred and Jeremy’s shared apartment was a chaotic testament to their shared passions and questionable life choices. Mismatched furniture—a sagging plaid couch, a coffee table littered with empty soda cans, and a beanbag chair that had seen better days—sprawled haphazardly around the small space. Gaming consoles blinked lazily from beneath a tangle of cords, and the faint, greasy aroma of last night’s pizza clung to the air like a stubborn guest who wouldn’t leave. A half-eaten box of the stuff sat on the coffee table, a silent witness to the trio’s late-night binge.

Jeremy, the bespectacled heart of this nerdy ecosystem, was slouched into the couch, his lanky frame practically swallowed by the cushions. His fingers fidgeted nervously with a Rubik’s Cube, twisting and turning it with no real intent to solve it, just something to keep his hands busy while his mind raced. His thick glasses slid down his nose, and he pushed them up with a shaky finger, his hazel eyes darting anywhere but at his two roommates.

Across from him, sprawled on the beanbag with the confidence of a queen on a throne, was Mia. Her dark hair was pulled into a messy bun, a few rebellious strands framing her sharp, angular face. She wore a black tank top and ripped jeans, her combat boots propped up on the coffee table as she lazily picked at a slice of pizza. Her piercing green eyes glinted with mischief as she traded barbs with Fred, who lounged on the other end of the couch, a beer in hand and a smirk on his face. Fred, with his tousled blond hair and easy charm, was the kind of guy who could talk his way into—or out of—anything, and he knew it.

“Seriously, Fred, if I have to watch you flirt with the delivery guy one more time, I’m gonna start charging admission,” Mia quipped, her voice dripping with mock exasperation as she took a bite of pizza. “What was it last night? ‘Oh, man, you’ve got the best pepperoni in town.’ Real subtle, Casanova.”

Fred laughed, a deep, rumbling sound, and leaned back, stretching his arms over the back of the couch. “Hey, don’t hate the player, hate the game. Besides, I got us a free garlic bread out of it. You’re welcome.”

Mia rolled her eyes, but a smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. “Oh, please. The only thing you’re good at getting is a restraining order. Keep it up, and I’ll have to start vetting your ‘conquests’ for our safety.”

Their banter was a well-worn routine, a rhythm they’d perfected over months of living together. But Jeremy, as usual, was on the outside looking in. He shifted uncomfortably, the Rubik’s Cube slipping from his hands and clattering onto the floor. The noise drew Mia’s sharp gaze, and she tilted her head, studying him like a cat eyeing a particularly skittish mouse.

“What’s with you, J?” she asked, her tone teasing but curious. “You’ve been quieter than a mime at a funeral. Spit it out before I start guessing, and trust me, my guesses are never PG.”

Jeremy’s face flushed a faint pink, and he adjusted his glasses again, a nervous tic that Mia had clocked months ago. “I, uh… it’s nothing. Really. Just… thinking.”

Fred snorted, taking a swig of his beer. “Thinking? Man, with the way you’re sweating over there, I’d say you’re planning a heist. Or maybe you’ve got a secret OnlyFans we don’t know about.”

Mia cackled, nearly choking on her pizza. “Oh my God, Fred, don’t give him ideas. Can you imagine? ‘Nerdy McNerdface does math equations in his underwear.’ It’d be a hit with the calculus crowd.”

Jeremy’s flush deepened to a full-on crimson, and he hunched his shoulders, wishing he could melt into the couch. “Can you guys just… not? For like, five minutes?”

Mia’s smirk softened just a fraction, though her eyes still sparkled with mischief. She leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees, and fixed him with a look that was equal parts amusement and challenge. “Alright, fine. I’ll play nice. What’s eating you, J? And don’t say ‘nothing,’ because I can smell the angst from here, and it’s worse than this pizza.”

Jeremy hesitated, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. Finally, with a voice that cracked on the first syllable, he blurted, “I’m just… I’m tired of being… me. Okay? I can’t even look a girl in the eye without feeling like I’m gonna pass out. I’ve never even… you know… been with anyone. And I’m twenty-three! I’m basically a walking virginity poster boy, and I hate it.”

The room went silent for a beat, the only sound the faint hum of the gaming console in the background. Then Fred let out a low whistle, setting his beer down with a clink. “Damn, man. That’s… heavy. But, like, relatable. I mean, not for me, obviously, but I get it.”

Mia, however, didn’t miss a beat. She leaned back, crossing her arms over her chest, and let out a sharp bark of laughter. “A walking virginity poster boy? Oh, Jeremy, that’s gold. I’m framing that. But seriously, you’re acting like it’s a death sentence. Newsflash, nerd: not getting laid isn’t the end of the world. It’s just… a very long dry spell.”

Jeremy groaned, burying his face in his hands. “Can you not make this worse? I’m already dying over here.”

Mia’s grin widened, but there was a flicker of something softer in her expression as she watched him. She stood up, brushing pizza crumbs off her jeans, and plopped down on the couch next to him, closer than necessary. Her shoulder brushed his, and he stiffened like he’d been electrocuted. She noticed, of course—she always noticed—and her smirk grew predatory.

“Alright, J, since you’re so tragically inexperienced, how about we fix that?” she purred, her voice low and teasing. “I’m feeling generous tonight. Why don’t you practice on me? You know, talking to girls. Flirting. All that jazz. I’ll be your guinea pig, and I promise I’ll only bite if you ask nicely.”

Jeremy’s head snapped up so fast his glasses nearly flew off. “W-what? Are you serious? I can’t—I mean, I don’t even know where to start—”

Fred, still lounging on the other end of the couch, grinned like a Cheshire cat. “Oh, this I gotta see. Come on, man, it’s perfect. Mia’s basically a safe space. She’s terrifying, sure, but she’s our terrifying. You can’t mess up worse than you already do on a daily basis.”

Mia shot Fred a mock glare before turning back to Jeremy, her gaze pinning him in place. “Listen up, specs. I’m not gonna hold your hand—well, not unless you beg—but I’ll give you pointers. Think of it as… immersion therapy. You wanna stop being a blushing mess every time a girl looks at you? Start with me. I’m the best crash course you’re gonna get.”

Jeremy’s face was now a shade of red that rivaled a ripe tomato, and he stammered, “I-I don’t know if I can do that. What if I say something stupid? Which, let’s be honest, I will.”

Mia’s laugh was sharp and bright, cutting through the tension like a knife. “Oh, honey, you’re gonna say something stupid. That’s a given. But that’s the point. You say it, I roast you for it, and then you try again. Rinse and repeat until you’re at least halfway charming. Deal?”

She extended a hand, her nails painted a chipped black, and waited. Jeremy stared at it like it was a live grenade, then slowly, reluctantly, shook it. Her grip was firm, almost challenging, and she didn’t let go right away, her eyes locked on his with an intensity that made his stomach flip.

“Good boy,” she said, her voice a teasing drawl as she finally released his hand. “Lesson one starts tomorrow. Wear something that doesn’t scream ‘I live in my mom’s basement,’ and maybe try not to faint when I look at you. Think you can handle that?”

Jeremy swallowed hard, nodding mutely as Fred burst into laughter behind them. “Oh, man, this is gonna be better than reality TV. I’m popping popcorn for this.”

Mia shot Fred a withering look before turning back to Jeremy, her smirk firmly in place. “Ignore him. Focus on me, J. I’m gonna make a man out of you yet—or at least a slightly less awkward one. Now, go get some sleep. You’re gonna need all the energy you can muster to keep up with me.”

As Jeremy mumbled a shaky “okay” and stumbled off toward his room, Mia leaned back on the couch, crossing her legs with a satisfied air. She caught Fred’s eye and winked, already plotting the chaos she’d unleash in their next “lesson.” Jeremy didn’t stand a chance—and she was going to enjoy every second of it.
