Makima was lounging on the couch, a sleek magazine spread out on her lap. She absentmindedly flipped through the pages, her mind elsewhere. The apartment was cozy, filled with the smell of burning candles and the faint hum of jazz music.
The door creaked open, and Makima looked up to see Tony enter the room. He looked nervous, his eyes darting around the room as if searching for an escape route.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Makima asked, her voice laced with concern.
