Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, stood in front of her bathroom mirror, her perfectly manicured hands holding two positive pregnancy tests. She blinked, her sparkling blue eyes unable to believe what they were seeing. She was pregnant.
Just then, the door to her bathroom burst open, and Hestia, the goddess of the hearth and home, stepped inside. "Aphrodite, what's wrong?" Hestia asked, noticing the tears streaming down Aphrodite's face.
Aphrodite handed the tests to Hestia, who raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Well, this is certainly a surprise," Hestia said, trying to hide her amusement.
Aphrodite sniffled, "I had a one-night stand with Hephaestus, my ex-husband, at a party eight weeks ago."
Hestia couldn't help but laugh, "Aphrodite, I don't want to be rude, but how drunk were you that you got knocked up by your ex-husband?"
Aphrodite glared at Hestia, "I was not drunk! It just happened, okay?"
Hestia put a comforting arm around Aphrodite's shoulders, "Okay, okay. Let's get you to the hospital and find out more."
At the hospital, Aphrodite underwent an ultrasound and found out she was pregnant with twins.
Hestia's eyes widened, "Twins?! Aphrodite, this is... this is huge!"
Aphrodite started crying again, "I don't know what to do, Hestia. I'm not ready for this."
Hestia squeezed Aphrodite's hand, "It's okay. We'll figure it out together. And just think, you'll have two little loves of your own."
Aphrodite sniffs, "I guess you're right. I just need some time to process this."
Hestia smiled, "Of course. And in the meantime, we'll need to break the news to Hephaestus."
Aphrodite groaned, "Ugh, I don't even want to think about that. He's going to be so mad."
Hestia chuckled, "Well, he is the god of fire and metalworking. He might take it better than you think."
Aphrodite rolled her eyes, "Hestia, you always see the best in people. But this is different. Hephaestus and I have a complicated history. He's not going to be happy about this."
Hestia sighed, "I know it's not ideal, but we can't change the past. We need to focus on the present and the future. You're going to be an amazing mother, Aphrodite. And I'll be here to support you every step of the way."
Aphrodite smiled, feeling a sense of relief. With Hestia by her side, she knew she could face anything. Even the wrath of her ex-husband.
