**Chapter 1: Sparks in the Boardroom**
The office of Vantage Capital was a sleek, modern battlefield, all glass walls and sharp edges, where power was currency and desire simmered beneath tailored suits. At the helm was Cassandra Blake, the CEO with a reputation for being as ruthless as she was stunning. Her raven-black hair was always pulled into a tight chignon, her crimson lips a warning sign to anyone who dared cross her. And then there was Elise Monroe, the new marketing lead, a firecracker with honey-blonde curls and a wit as sharp as her stilettos. She didn’t just walk into a room; she claimed it.
It was late on a Friday, the office deserted except for the two of them, hunched over a presentation in Cassandra’s corner office. The city skyline glittered through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a seductive glow over the polished mahogany desk.
“You’re telling me this campaign will close the deal with the Henderson account?” Cassandra’s voice was low, a velvet blade as she leaned over the desk, her piercing green eyes locking onto Elise. Her blouse dipped just enough to reveal the edge of a black lace bra, and Elise didn’t miss it.
“Damn right it will,” Elise shot back, her smirk confident as she tapped a manicured nail on the tablet screen. “I don’t play to lose, Cass. You should know that by now.”
Cassandra straightened, a predatory smile curling her lips. “Oh, I’ve noticed. You’ve got balls, Monroe. Or should I say... ovaries?”
Elise laughed, a throaty sound that sent a shiver down Cassandra’s spine. “Call it what you want, boss. I get shit done. But let’s be real—you didn’t keep me late just to talk numbers.” She stepped closer, her hips swaying with intent, the air between them crackling. “You’ve been eye-fucking me since I walked in here.”
Cassandra didn’t flinch, didn’t back down. Instead, she closed the distance, her breath hot against Elise’s ear. “And you’ve been begging for it with every smart-ass quip. Don’t pretend you haven’t noticed how I watch you.”
Elise’s hand slid up Cassandra’s arm, fingers digging into the fabric of her blazer. “Watching isn’t enough, is it? You want to feel me, don’t you?” Her voice dropped, husky and daring. “You want to know how wet I get just thinking about you bending me over this desk.”
Cassandra’s eyes darkened, a growl escaping her throat. “Careful, Elise. I don’t play nice when I’m provoked.”
“Good,” Elise purred, her lips brushing Cassandra’s jaw. “I don’t want nice. I want you hard and hungry, tearing into me like you own me.”
In a flash, Cassandra’s hands were on Elise’s waist, spinning her around and pressing her against the desk. Papers scattered, forgotten, as their bodies collided with a heat that had been building for weeks. Elise’s ass pressed back against Cassandra, a deliberate tease, and the CEO’s fingers dug into her hips with a possessive grip.
“Fuck, you’re trouble,” Cassandra hissed, her lips grazing the nape of Elise’s neck as she ground against her. “You’ve got no idea how much I’ve wanted to taste that smart mouth of yours.”
Elise turned her head, catching Cassandra’s lips in a bruising kiss, all teeth and tongue, a battle for dominance neither was willing to lose. Their breathing turned to panting, bodies sweating with anticipation. Elise’s hand reached back, sliding down to grip Cassandra through her skirt, feeling the heat and the promise of what was to come. “Then stop talking and show me,” she challenged, her voice dripping with need.
Cassandra’s hand slipped under Elise’s blouse, fingers tracing the curve of her skin, inching toward the edge of her panties. The tension was electric, their bodies aching, horny and desperate for release. They were on the brink, the edge of something explosive, and neither was backing down.
