The bit, Bex, was nursing a drink at the dimly lit, seedy spaceport bar. She was covered in grease and grime, but her piercing blue eyes and sharp tongue kept most of the creeps at bay. She scowled at the patrons, rolling her eyes at the sight of yet another spoiled princess who thought she was above everyone else.
But this princess was different. Zora of the planet Xylo entered the bar, dressed in extravagant robes, her golden skin and lavender hair immediately drawing the attention of every being in the room. Bex couldn't help but roll her eyes, muttering under her breath, "Great, another spoiled princess who thinks she's above everyone else."
Zora made her way over to Bex, her haughty attitude on full display. "Is there a problem, human?" she asked, her voice dripping with condescension.
Bex looked Zora up and down, taking in her attitude. "Just trying to enjoy my drink in peace," she said, her tone laced with sarcasm.
Zora raised an eyebrow. "I don't think that's possible in a place like this," she said, looking around the bar with disgust.
Bex laughed. "You're right, princess. But it's a hell of a lot more interesting than whatever boring party you were probably late for."
Zora's eyes narrowed. "I am not 'late' for anything," she said, her voice tight.
Bex grinned. "Oh, I'm sorry. Did I strike a nerve?"
Zora's face softened, and she couldn't help but smile. "You're quite cheeky, human," she said, her voice softer now.
Bex shrugged. "It's a survival mechanism in a place like this."
Zora nodded, understanding. "I can see that," she said.
Bex looked at Zora, really looked at her for the first time. She was surprised to find that the princess was actually quite beautiful, in a regal sort of way. Zora caught Bex's gaze and held it. "I could use a mechanic," she said, her voice low.
Bex raised an eyebrow. "Oh yeah? And why should I help you, princess?"
Zora grinned. "Because I can pay you very well," she said, her voice dripping with promise.
Bex couldn't help but smile back. "Well, in that case, I might be able to make some time in my schedule," she said, her tone flirtatious.
Zora laughed, her eyes sparkling. "I thought you might say that," she said, her voice full of amusement.
Bex and Zora continued to banter back and forth, their flirtation growing more and more obvious. The other patrons of the bar watched in amazement as the human mechanic and the alien princess engaged in a playful war of words, each trying to outdo the other.
Bex and Zora's chemistry was palpable, and it was clear that this was the start of a very interesting relationship. As they left the bar together, Bex couldn't help but think that this was the start of an adventure she would never forget.
