Riding the Edge

Riding the Edge

Chapter 1: Heat on the Horizon

The sun blazed over the winding coastal road as Ryan gripped the scooter’s handles, the engine humming beneath him. At 27, he was lean and wiry, 170 cm of sharp edges and sharper wit. Behind him, Sami, a hulking 21-year-old at 185 cm and 95 kg, shifted uncomfortably, his broad frame barely fitting on the narrow seat.

‘This is cramped as hell, man,’ Sami grumbled, his deep voice vibrating against Ryan’s back. ‘I’m practically falling off.’

Ryan smirked, tossing a glance over his shoulder. ‘What, you want me to sit on your lap or something?’

Sami’s dark eyes glinted with mischief. ‘Yes.’ Before Ryan could retort, Sami’s massive hands gripped his waist, lifting him effortlessly and plopping him down onto his lap. ‘There. Problem solved.’

Ryan’s breath hitched. The heat of Sami’s thighs pressed against him, the sheer control in those hands sending a jolt through his core. ‘You’re insane,’ he snapped, trying to mask the strange warmth spreading through him. ‘I’m driving, you idiot.’

‘And I’m steering,’ Sami chuckled, his grip tightening as he leaned forward, his chest brushing Ryan’s back. ‘Relax, pretty boy. I’ve got you.’

Ryan’s jaw clenched, his focus split between the road and the undeniable tension building. He could feel something—hard, insistent—pressing against him from behind, and it wasn’t just the bumpy ride. His own body betrayed him, a subtle rise in his jeans as he fought to keep his cool. He didn’t dare speak, didn’t dare acknowledge it. The scooter sped on, the salty sea air doing nothing to cool the fire igniting between them.

They reached the beach, the turquoise waves crashing against jagged rocks. Sami stripped down to swim trunks, his muscular frame glistening under the sun as he waded into the water. ‘C’mon, Ryan. Let’s swim out deep.’

Ryan hesitated, then followed, the cool water a shock against his heated skin. They ventured farther, the shore shrinking behind them, until Sami’s strong arms wrapped around him from behind. ‘Don’t be afraid,’ Sami murmured, his lips close to Ryan’s ear. ‘You won’t drown. Not with me here.’

Ryan’s pulse raced. That same heat, that same hardness, nudged between his legs underwater, like a big fish brushing against him. He jolted, a gasp escaping as sweat beaded on his neck despite the cold. ‘What the—?’

‘Probably just a fish,’ Sami teased, his voice low and suggestive. ‘Or something else. You tell me.’

Ryan’s mind spun, confusion and desire tangling as he sank back against Sami’s chest, feeling that same sensation again. Was it fear? Lust? He couldn’t tell, but his body was reacting, and he hated how much he didn’t hate it.

Back at the dorm, after a day of charged glances and unspoken tension, Sami sprawled on the king-size bed they’d agreed to share. ‘Plenty of room,’ he’d said with a smirk, and Ryan, against his better judgment, had nodded. Now, in the dim light, Sami’s gaze lingered on him, intense and unreadable.

‘You know,’ Sami started, sitting up and towering over Ryan even on the bed, ‘I never noticed the height difference ‘til now. Remember when you were the big guy?’ He grinned, predatory, as he slid behind Ryan, his hands gripping his hips and lifting him like he weighed nothing. ‘Not anymore.’

Ryan’s breath caught, his pride warring with the thrill of being manhandled. ‘Put me down, asshole,’ he bit out, but there was no venom in it.

‘Make me,’ Sami taunted, pulling Ryan back into his lap, his arms caging him in. ‘C’mon, try to lift me instead.’

Ryan pushed, strained, but Sami’s bulk didn’t budge. Laughter rumbled through Sami’s chest as he flipped Ryan around, pinning him against his hard frame. ‘Guess I’m in charge now.’

Something snapped in Ryan—anger, arousal, he couldn’t tell. He felt it again, that hardness pressing into him, and his own body responded, traitorously eager. He squirmed, but Sami’s grip was iron. ‘Stop fighting it,’ Sami whispered, his voice a dangerous purr. ‘You’re not going anywhere.’

The air crackled, heavy with unspoken promises. Ryan’s heart pounded, his mind racing with what was coming next, what he both dreaded and craved. The night was young, and the heat between them was only beginning to burn.
