Riverside Rapture

### Chapter One: Riverside Rumble

The river shimmered under the afternoon sun, a silver ribbon winding through the whispering willows and tall grass just beyond the edges of the bustling small town. Lila had always known this spot—her spot—where the world seemed to hush, and the only sounds were the gentle lap of water against the bank and the rustle of leaves in the breeze. It was her sanctuary, her escape, and today, her playground.

She glanced over her shoulder at Toby, her latest fling, who was stumbling through the underbrush behind her, his sneakers catching on every root and twig. He was cute in a clueless, city-boy way—tall, broad-shouldered, with a mop of sandy hair and a sheepish grin that screamed “I’m out of my depth.” Lila smirked, her dark eyes glinting with mischief as she adjusted the strap of her sundress, the deep red fabric hugging her curves like a second skin.

“Keep up, pretty boy,” she called, her voice dripping with playful scorn. “I didn’t drag you out here to watch you trip over your own feet. Or are you just stalling ‘cause you’re scared of a little wilderness?”

Toby laughed, brushing a stray leaf from his shirt as he finally caught up to her at the riverbank. “Scared? Nah, Lila, I’m just… taking in the scenery.” His eyes roamed over her, lingering a little too long on the way her dress clung to her hips. “And damn, it’s a hell of a view.”

Lila arched a brow, crossing her arms over her chest, which only accentuated the way the fabric stretched. “Oh, please. Flattery won’t save you out here. You’re about as useful in the wild as a paper umbrella in a thunderstorm. Bet you’ve never even touched a blade of grass before today.”

“Hey, I’ve touched plenty of grass!” Toby protested, though the flush creeping up his neck betrayed him. “Okay, fine, maybe it was a manicured lawn, but still—counts, right?”

She snorted, stepping closer until the heat of her body was just inches from his. “Not even close, city slicker. But don’t worry, I’ll break you in. Stick with me, and you might just survive the afternoon.” Her lips curled into a wicked smile as she reached out, trailing a finger down his chest. “Or at least, survive me.”

Toby swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he tried to match her intensity. “I’m game, boss lady. Just tell me what to do. I’m all yours.”

“Oh, I know you are,” Lila purred, her voice low and commanding. She grabbed the collar of his shirt, tugging him down to her level, her breath hot against his ear. “First rule of my river: I’m in charge. You don’t move, don’t speak, don’t even breathe too loud unless I say so. Got it?”

“Got it,” he murmured, his voice husky, his hands hovering uncertainly at his sides. “But, uh, what if I mess up? You gonna throw me in the river or something?”

Lila laughed, a sharp, throaty sound that sent a shiver down his spine. “Tempting, but no. I’ve got better ways to punish you.” She released his collar, stepping back to survey him like a predator sizing up prey. “Now, strip off that shirt. Let’s see if those gym muscles are just for show or if you’ve got something worth my time.”

Toby blinked, then grinned, fumbling with the buttons of his shirt. “Yes, ma’am. Anything to keep the queen of the river happy.”

“Queen, huh?” Lila tilted her head, watching as the fabric fell away to reveal the hard planes of his chest. “I like the sound of that. Keep talking like that, and I might just let you live through this.”

She turned away for a moment, kicking off her sandals and letting her bare feet sink into the cool, soft earth by the river’s edge. The water glinted, its gentle flow hypnotic, mirroring the heat building in her veins. She could feel Toby’s eyes on her, hungry and uncertain, and it only fueled her fire. Control was her drug, and she was high on it.

“Alright, city boy,” she said, glancing back at him with a smirk. “Shirt’s off. Now get over here and prove you’re not just a pretty face. I don’t have all day to babysit you.”

Toby stepped forward, his bare chest catching the sunlight, a nervous but eager energy radiating from him. “Babysit? Damn, Lila, you’re ruthless. I’m trying my best here.”

“Your best?” She laughed again, stepping into his space, her hands sliding up his arms to grip his shoulders. “Sweetheart, your best isn’t even close to cutting it. Lucky for you, I’m a generous teacher. Now, shut up and kiss me before I change my mind.”

He didn’t need to be told twice. His lips crashed into hers, clumsy at first but hungry, and Lila took control, tilting her head to deepen the kiss, her fingers threading through his hair to guide him exactly where she wanted. Her tongue teased his, a dance of dominance and desire, and she felt him melt under her command, his hands finally daring to settle on her waist.

“That’s more like it,” she murmured against his lips, pulling back just enough to meet his dazed gaze. “But don’t get cocky. We’re just getting started.”

She pushed him down onto the soft grass, straddling his hips with a predatory grace. The river’s current hummed in the background, a sensual soundtrack to the heat building between them. Lila’s hands roamed over his chest, her nails grazing just hard enough to make him gasp, her eyes glinting with wicked intent.

“You’re gonna learn fast out here, Toby,” she said, her voice a sultry growl. “Or I’ll make damn sure you regret it. Think you can keep up with me?”

Toby’s breath hitched, his hands gripping her thighs as he looked up at her, utterly captivated. “I’ll die trying, Lila. Just don’t stop.”

“Oh, I don’t plan to,” she replied, leaning down to capture his lips again, her body pressing against his as the river flowed on, witness to their rising passion. Her gaze flicked briefly to the water, its shimmering surface reflecting the fire in her soul. She was the queen of this riverside, and today, Toby was hers to command, to tease, to consume.

The tall grass swayed around them, the willows whispered their secrets, and Lila reveled in the power of the moment, her dominance intertwining with the raw, natural beauty of her hidden spot. This was just the beginning, and she was going to savor every second of it.
