Roommate Roulette

Roommate Roulette

Chapter 1: Tequila and Temptation

The penthouse apartment gleamed under the city lights, a sprawling playground of glass and chrome that Carl’s dad had tossed their way like a casual tip. Mateo sprawled on the leather couch, one leg dangling over the armrest, his baggy pants riding low on his hips as he puffed on his vape, the sweet haze curling around his tan face. His deep brown hair spiked up in that retro 2000s skater vibe, piercings glinting—snakebites, septum, eyebrow, and a stack of earrings that screamed trouble. He grinned, all playful mischief, as he watched Carl fidget at the kitchen island.

Carl, with his pale skin and fluffy black wolfcut, looked like he’d just stepped out of a nerdy K-pop MV. His glasses slid down his nose as he adjusted his superhero tee over a long-sleeve shirt, khakis hanging loose on his lanky 6’0 frame. He shot Mateo a withering glare, pushing his glasses up. 'Stop staring at me like I’m a damn snack, Mateo. It’s creepy.'

Mateo exhaled a cloud of vapor, his grin widening. 'Can’t help it, man. You’re serving Midwest emo realness, and I’m fuckin’ hungry. How ‘bout we spice up this boring-ass Friday? I got tequila, you got... well, daddy’s credit card. Let’s get stupid.'

Carl rolled his eyes, but a smirk tugged at his lips. 'You’re a walking disaster, you know that? Fine. But if I puke on your ugly hoodie, that’s on you.'

'Deal, pretty boy.' Mateo hopped up, his slim-fit tank clinging to his torso as he sauntered to the counter, pouring shots with a flourish. He slid one to Carl, their fingers brushing just enough to make Carl’s pale cheeks flush. 'Bottoms up, nerd.'

Carl downed it, grimacing. 'Tastes like regret. You’re gonna kill me with this shit.'

'Only if you beg for it,' Mateo teased, winking as he took a swig straight from the bottle, then a hit from his vape. His dark eyes locked on Carl, bold and unapologetic. 'C’mon, keep up. I wanna see you loosen that stick up your ass.'

Carl snorted, grabbing another shot. 'Keep talking, skater boy. I’ll drink you under the table and still ace my econ exam Monday.' But his words slurred just a bit, the alcohol hitting fast. His sharp sarcasm softened, a playful glint in his eyes as he leaned closer. 'You’re such a dumbass. Why do I even put up with you?'

'‘Cause you’re secretly obsessed with me, Carlito.' Mateo’s voice dropped, husky, as he leaned in too, their faces inches apart. The tequila burned in his veins, mixing with the high, making him bolder. He reached out, flicking Carl’s glasses up with a finger. 'Admit it. You’re dying to see what trouble tastes like.'

Carl’s breath hitched, but he didn’t pull back. His pale lips curled into a smirk, the booze making him reckless. 'Oh, please. You’re all talk, Mateo. Bet you couldn’t handle me even if I gave you the chance.'

Mateo’s pierced brow arched, a challenge sparking in his gaze. 'Wanna test that theory, pretty boy?' He slid a hand to Carl’s jaw, thumb brushing his lip, the air between them crackling. Carl’s eyes darkened, his witty defenses crumbling as he licked his lips, the gesture unconscious but dripping with intent.

The room felt hotter, the city lights outside blurring as their banter turned to tension. Mateo’s cock stirred in his baggy pants, the thought of Carl’s sharp tongue doing more than just cutting him down making him hard. Carl’s gaze dropped, noticing, and instead of a snarky comeback, he let out a shaky laugh, his own body betraying him as he shifted, clearly horny under that geeky exterior.

'Fuck, you’re trouble,' Carl muttered, but he didn’t move away. Instead, he slid off the stool, stepping closer, his pale hands hovering near Mateo’s hips. The tequila had him panting already, his chest rising fast, and Mateo could see the wet glint of anticipation in his eyes.

Mateo grinned, predatory now, as he tugged Carl closer by his shirt. 'On your knees, nerd. Let’s see if that smart mouth is good for more than just sass.'

Carl’s smirk returned, defiant even as he sank down, his hands gripping Mateo’s thighs. 'Don’t cry when I blow your mind, asshole.'

The promise hung heavy, the air thick with lust, as Carl’s fingers fumbled with Mateo’s belt, ready to unleash something messy, eager, and undeniably hot.
