The door to the dorm room swung open, and the four members of Team RWBY tumbled inside, each laden with a backpack full of books and various gadgets. Ruby was the first to enter, her scarlet hair falling in her face as she dropped her bag onto the floor with a thud.
"Ugh, I am so glad classes are over for the day," she groaned, flopping down onto the couch and letting out a sigh of relief.
Weiss followed close behind, her icy blue eyes scanning the room for any signs of disorder. She raised an eyebrow at the sight of a strange ray gun sitting on the coffee table, a note tucked neatly beside it.
"What's this?" she asked, picking up the note and handing it to Ruby.
Ruby took the note and passed it along to Yang, who cleared her throat and began to read aloud:
"'Dear Team RWBY, I hope this note finds you well. I've left you a little gift in your dorm room - a ray gun of unusual size. I'm sure you'll find all sorts of creative uses for it. Best of luck, and happy experimenting!'"
Yang grinned and looked around at her teammates. "Well, what do you say, guys? Should we give it a try?"
Weiss rolled her eyes. "I can't believe I'm even considering this, but fine. We'll give it a shot. But we need to follow strict safety protocols, understand?"
Blake nodded in agreement, her dark eyes fixed on the gun. "We don't know where this thing came from or what it's capable of. We need to be careful."
Ruby shrugged. "Come on, guys. It could be a fun experiment. As long as we're careful, what's the harm?"
Yang picked up the gun, hefting its weight in her hand. "I've always wanted to know what it's like to have your hair," she said, pointing the gun at Ruby and grinning mischievously.
Ruby gasped and tried to dodge, but Yang pulled the trigger anyway. A bright flash of light filled the room, and Ruby's hair energy was stored in the gun.
Yang turned to Blake, a wicked gleam in her eye. "I've always wanted to know what it's like to have your speed," she said, pointing the gun at Blake.
Blake rolled her eyes, but before she could protest, Yang pulled the trigger again. Blake's speed energy was stored in the gun, and Yang turned to Weiss.
"I've always wanted to know what it's like to have your intelligence," Yang said, pointing the gun at Weiss.
Weiss crossed her arms and glared at Yang. "I'm afraid that's one thing you'll never be able to replicate, Yang," she said, smirking.
Yang pulled the trigger, but nothing happened. The team laughed and continued to experiment with the gun, each taking turns transforming into different body parts of their teammates. As they played, they realized that the gun was not only a source of fun, but also a way to deepen their bond as a team.
The chapter ended with the team falling asleep on the couch, exhausted from their adventures with the ray gun. But as they slept, they dreamed of the possibilities that the gun held, and the adventures that awaited them in the days to come.
