Sage fidgeted on the couch, her heart beating faster with every passing second. She took a deep breath and turned to Cater, who was lounging next to her, a book in his hand.
"Hey, can we talk about something?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Cater looked up from his book, a curious expression on his face. "Of course, what's up?"

Cater suggested they do some research together to make sure they were both prepared.
