The Camp Half-Blood amphitheater was brimming with activity as the campers gathered for their daily briefing. Percy Jackson, a seasoned 16-year-old demigod, sat in his usual spot, engrossed in a history problem. His seatmate, a confident 12-year-old Colombian girl named Isabela, couldn't help but roll her eyes as Percy struggled.
"The Treaty of the First Olympian Games was signed in 476 BC, on the seventh day of the third month," Isabela offered, her dark brown eyes twinkling with amusement. Percy looked at her, stunned.
"How did you know that?" he asked, impressed. Isabela just shrugged, a smirk playing on her lips.
"Maybe you're a child of Athena," Percy suggested, referring to the goddess of wisdom. But before Isabela could respond, a booming voice echoed around the camp, announcing her as Isabela Garcia, daughter of Kronos, god of time.
The campers, including Leo, Piper, Annabeth, Percy, Nico, Will, Reyna, Talia, Jason, Frank, and Hazel, were shocked. Isabela, trying to process the news, smirked and said, "Well, at least I'll never be late for dinner."
Percy was still in disbelief. "But how? You're only 12!" he exclaimed. Isabela retorted, "And you're only 16, but you've been through more than most adults. Time works in mysterious ways, Percy."
Annabeth, the daughter of Athena, was intrigued. "What was your earliest memory, Isabela?" she asked. Isabela thought for a moment and replied, "I remember waking up at the break of dawn, watching the sunrise and feeling like time was slipping through my fingers."
Nico, the son of Hades, sensed something darker. "Have you ever felt like time was against you?" he asked. Isabela nodded, sharing a story about a near-death experience in Colombia, where she felt time slowing down.
Leo, the son of Hephaestus, tried to lighten the mood. "Well, at least you'll always have a leg up on homework. Just set your hourglass and voila!" he joked. Isabela laughed and playfully insulted Leo, "Oh, Leo, you're such a tool. I'll need more than an hourglass to deal with your shenanigans."
The campers laughed and welcomed Isabela to Camp Half-Blood, ready for a new adventure with the daughter of Kronos. As they dispersed, Percy couldn't help but feel a sense of foreboding. He knew that being the child of Kronos, the Titan who had tried to overthrow the gods, wouldn't be easy for Isabela. But he also knew that she was strong, controlling, and direct - just like the hourglass that now symbolized her.
As the sun began to set, casting long shadows over the camp, Percy couldn't help but wonder what the future held for Isabela. And for all of them. Only time would tell.
