Sands of Desire: When Isabela, the Columbian Demigoddess of Time, Makes History with a Snarky Twist

Chapter One: The Hourglass Unveiled

The Camp Half-Blood amphitheater was bustling with activity as Percy, the camp's resident hero, sat in the center, surrounded by his friends Leo, Piper, Annabeth, and the rest of the campers. They were all trying to help Percy with a history problem, but he was struggling to make sense of it.

"Come on, Percy. It can't be that hard," Leo said, scratching his head.

"I know, but it just doesn't make sense," Percy replied, rubbing his temples.

Suddenly, a newcomer entered the scene. She was a stunning girl with Colombian heritage, her dark hair cascading down her shoulders. She walked with confidence and grace, and the campers couldn't help but stare.

"Isabela, right?" Annabeth said, standing up to greet her. "I'm Annabeth. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood."

Isabela smiled and nodded. "Nice to meet you. I heard this was the place to be for demigods."

"It is," Annabeth said, beaming with pride. "But I have to say, I'm impressed. You solved that history problem in no time."

Isabela shrugged. "It was nothing. I've always had a knack for puzzles."

Suddenly, an hourglass symbol appeared above Isabela's head, indicating that she had been claimed by a god. The campers were shocked and confused, as they had never seen an hourglass symbol before.

"What the...?" Leo stammered, his eyes wide with surprise.

A booming voice echoed through the amphitheater, announcing that Isabela had been claimed by Kronos, the god of time. The campers were stunned, as Kronos was a Titan and not typically associated with demigods.

Isabela took the announcement in stride, showing her strong and confident personality. "Well, hello there, Kronos. I'm not sure what you see in me, but I'm willing to find out."

The campers exchanged worried glances, unsure of what this means for Isabela and the camp. Percy, the leader of the camp, stepped forward and reassured Isabela that they would protect her and help her navigate her new powers.

Isabela thanked Percy and the others, showing her appreciation for their support. The campers gathered around Isabela, asking her questions about her powers and her connection to Kronos.

"So, what can you do with your powers?" Piper asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Isabela answered their questions, showing her intelligence and wisdom. "Well, I can manipulate time to a certain extent. I can slow it down or speed it up, but I can't control it completely."

The campers listened intently, fascinated by Isabela's abilities. The chapter ended with the campers embracing Isabela as one of their own, ready to face any challenges that come their way.

As they walked back to the cabin, Percy couldn't help but feel a little uneasy about Isabela's connection to Kronos. But he pushed those thoughts aside, determined to protect Isabela and the camp at all costs.

"We'll figure it out, Isabela," he said, squeezing her hand. "We'll figure it out together."

Isabela smiled, her eyes shining with gratitude. "I know we will, Percy. I have a feeling that with you and the others by my side, there's nothing we can't handle."
