Seaside Temptations

Chapter 1: The Unexpected Room

The sun blazed over the turquoise waves as I, Alex, stepped into the lobby of the seaside resort with my mother, Olga, by my side. The air was thick with the scent of salt and sunscreen, and the promise of a week-long escape from reality. Olga, a striking woman in her early forties with a sharp tongue and an even sharper wit, adjusted her sunglasses and smirked at the receptionist, a young man who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else.

‘So, darling,’ she purred, leaning over the counter with a confidence that could command a room, ‘you’re telling me that after I shelled out a small fortune for this getaway, you’ve got us bunking in a room with just one bed? What is this, a rom-com setup?’

The receptionist stammered, his cheeks flushing. ‘I-I’m sorry, ma’am. It’s peak season, and there was a mix-up with the booking. We’re fully occupied, but I can assure you the bed is a king-size—plenty of space.’

I rolled my eyes, dropping my bag with a thud. ‘Plenty of space, huh? What’s next, you gonna suggest we spoon for warmth?’ I shot a glance at Olga, expecting her to tear into him further, but instead, she turned to me with a wicked grin.

‘Oh, come now, Alex,’ she teased, her voice dripping with mischief. ‘Don’t act like you haven’t dreamed of cuddling up to your hot mom on vacation. I’m a catch, and you know it.’

I snorted, trying to hide the heat creeping up my neck. ‘Yeah, right. You’re more likely to hog the covers and kick me in your sleep. I’ll take the floor if it comes to that.’

She laughed, a rich, throaty sound that turned heads in the lobby. ‘Don’t be dramatic. We’ll make it work. Besides, I’ve got better things to do than fight over bed space—like getting you to loosen up for once.’

We grabbed our keycard and headed to the room, the tension between us crackling like static. The room was luxurious, I’ll give them that—floor-to-ceiling windows with a view of the crashing waves, a balcony begging for late-night confessions, and, of course, the infamous king-size bed, draped in crisp white sheets that looked far too inviting.

Olga tossed her suitcase onto the bed and stretched, her sundress hugging every curve of her toned body. ‘Well, well,’ she mused, catching my eye in the mirror. ‘This isn’t so bad, is it? One bed, two adults, a whole lot of ocean air to make us forget our inhibitions.’

I swallowed hard, busying myself with unpacking to avoid her gaze. ‘Let’s just keep it PG, alright? I don’t need any weird vacation stories to explain when we get home.’

She sauntered over, her hips swaying with purpose, and flicked my chin up to meet her piercing stare. ‘PG? Sweetheart, I don’t do PG. Life’s too short for that nonsense. And frankly, I think you’re dying for a little R-rated adventure. Tell me I’m wrong.’

My pulse quickened, her words slicing through my defenses like a knife. She wasn’t wrong. There was something about the heat, the isolation of this paradise, and the way her confidence seemed to pull me in like a riptide. I opened my mouth to protest, but she was already closing the distance, her breath warm against my ear.

‘Relax, Alex,’ she whispered, her voice a velvet challenge. ‘Let’s see how long you can play the good boy before you’re begging for more.’

Her hand brushed my arm, sending a jolt straight through me, and I knew this vacation was about to take a turn I couldn’t predict—or resist. The bed loomed behind us, an unspoken invitation, as the sound of the waves crashing outside mirrored the storm building within.
