Secrets Behind Locked Doors

### Chapter One: Welcome Back, Trouble

The hum of laughter and clinking glasses drifted upstairs from the dining room, where two families sat woven together by decades of friendship. Chimin’s parents and Soen’s were lost in nostalgia, trading stories of scraped knees and childhood pranks, completely unaware of the electric storm brewing just above their heads. The scent of roasted chicken and garlic wafted through the house, but up here, in Chimin’s bedroom, the air was thick with something far more intoxicating.

The door clicked shut behind them, the lock snapping into place with a satisfying thud. Chimin leaned against it for a moment, his dark eyes flicking to Soen as she sauntered into the room like she owned it. Two weeks. Two agonizing weeks since she’d strutted back into town from Abu Dhabi, her skin kissed by desert sun, her smirk sharper than ever. They’d texted, sure, but words on a screen couldn’t capture the way her presence filled a space—demanding, daring, dangerous.

“So,” Soen drawled, kicking off her sandals with a casual flick of her foot as she perched on the edge of his bed. Her long legs crossed, the hem of her sundress riding up just enough to make his throat go dry. “This is what you’ve been hiding up here? A messy room and a bunch of outdated video games? I’m disappointed, Chimin. I thought you’d have something... spicier waiting for me.”

He scoffed, pushing off the door to close the distance between them, though he kept his hands shoved in his pockets for now. Self-control was a fragile thing around her. “Oh, please. You didn’t come up here to critique my decor. You’ve been itching to get me alone since you walked through the door downstairs.”

Her laugh was low, husky, the kind of sound that could unravel a man. She tilted her head, her dark hair spilling over one shoulder as her eyes glinted with mischief. “Guilty as charged. But can you blame me? Look at you, all tense and broody. Bet you’ve been counting the minutes till you could get your hands on me again.”

Chimin’s jaw tightened, but a smirk tugged at his lips. “You’re one to talk. You’ve been eye-fucking me across the table all night. Thought you were gonna climb over the mashed potatoes and have me right there.”

Soen threw her head back and laughed, the sound vibrating through the room as she uncrossed her legs and leaned back on her elbows. The movement made her dress slip higher, and she didn’t bother to fix it. “Tempting. But I like a little privacy when I make a mess of you. Besides, I’m not the one who’s been staring like a starved puppy. Admit it—you missed me so bad it hurt.”

He stepped closer, towering over her now, his voice dropping to a rough whisper. “Keep running that mouth, Soen, and I’ll show you just how much I missed you.”

Her grin was pure sin as she reached up, hooking a finger into the collar of his shirt and tugging him down until their faces were inches apart. “Promises, promises. You gonna keep talking, or are you gonna do something about it?”

That was all it took. Chimin crashed into her, his lips claiming hers with a hunger that had been clawing at him for days. She tasted like the sweet wine from dinner and something darker, something uniquely her. Soen didn’t yield—she fought back, her tongue tangling with his, her nails scraping lightly at the nape of his neck as she pulled him closer. A breathless gasp escaped her, swallowed by the kiss, and it only fueled him more.

“Goddamn, Soen,” he muttered against her mouth, his hands sliding down her sides to grip her hips. “You’re gonna be the death of me.”

She smirked, pulling back just enough to nip at his bottom lip. “Good. I like leaving a mark. Now, are you gonna help me out of this dress, or do I have to do everything myself?”

He didn’t need to be told twice. His fingers found the zipper at her back, yanking it down with a roughness that made her chuckle. “Impatient much?” she teased, shrugging the fabric off her shoulders and letting it pool at her waist. The sight of her bare skin, the curve of her collarbone, the swell of her chest—it hit him like a punch. She sprawled back on his bed, all confidence and wicked intent, watching him with a look that said she knew exactly the power she held.

“You’re a fucking menace,” he growled, shedding his own shirt in one swift motion before climbing over her. His hands roamed her skin, greedy and desperate, as he pressed kisses along her jaw, down her throat. Her head tilted back, a soft moan slipping out, and he felt it vibrate against his lips.

“Flattery will get you everywhere,” she purred, her fingers threading through his hair and tugging just hard enough to make him groan. “But if you’re gonna keep teasing, I might just take over. I’m not exactly known for my patience either.”

Chimin lifted his head, his eyes dark and burning as he met her gaze. “Oh, you think you’re in charge here? Cute.”

Her laugh was sharp, cutting through the haze of lust. “Baby, I’ve been in charge since the second I walked in. You’re just playing catch-up.”

He didn’t argue—not with words, anyway. Instead, he hooked her legs over his shoulders, the sudden shift making her gasp, her hands gripping the sheets. “Keep talking, Soen,” he murmured, his voice rough as gravel as he positioned himself. “Let’s see how cocky you are in a minute.”

Her eyes flashed with challenge, but her breath hitched as he pushed into her, the heat and tightness of her pulling a low groan from his chest. “Fuck,” she whispered, her usual sharpness fracturing for just a moment before she rallied. “Not bad, Chimin. I almost forgot how good you are at this.”

He grinned, though it was strained with the effort of holding himself together. “Almost? Guess I’ll have to remind you properly, then.”

Their rhythm built fast, desperate, the kind of pace that spoke of too many days apart and too much pent-up need. Her gasps and his muttered curses filled the room, though they both fought to keep their voices down. The last thing they needed was someone downstairs wondering why they’d been gone so long.

“Missed this,” he breathed against her ear, his teeth grazing her lobe in a way that made her shiver uncontrollably. “Missed you.”

Soen’s nails dug into his shoulders, her voice a ragged whisper. “Yeah? Prove it. Don’t hold back now—I’m not fragile.”

He didn’t. Every thrust was a confession, every touch a claim. Her taunts kept coming, though, even through her breathless moans. “Thought you’d be... faster... after all that waiting,” she gasped out, a smirk in her voice.

Chimin laughed, the sound rough and wild. “Keep pushing, Soen. I’ve got all night to shut you up.”

She arched beneath him, her smirk faltering into something raw and unguarded. “Bring it on, trouble. I’m not going anywhere.”

And as the laughter and chatter from downstairs faded into a distant hum, the world narrowed to just them—two flames burning too bright to be contained, stealing every stolen moment they could.
