Mei’s playful smile never faded, “And what conclusion have you come to, Alejandro?”
Alejandro took a deep breath, “I want us to take the next step. I want us to start a family.”
Mei was taken aback, surprised by his sudden proposal. She laughed, “Alejandro, I’m not ready for that yet. We’ve only been together for a few months.”
Alejandro looked hurt, “I know, but I can’t help how I feel. I want to claim you, to make you mine.”
Mei’s playful demeanor faded, replaced with a seriousness that made Alejandro take notice. She took a step closer to him, “Alejandro, I’m already yours. You don’t need to prove your love by starting a family.”
Alejandro looked relieved, “I’m glad. I just… I get insecure sometimes. I see you with your successful business, and I wonder if I’m enough for you.”
Mei’s eyes softened, “Alejandro, you’re more than enough for me. You’re everything I could ever want.”
