Yu Shodai sat by the window of her classroom, her piercing blue eyes lost in thought as she stared out at the bustling streets of Tokyo. Her raven-black hair cascaded down her shoulders, a stark contrast to her pale complexion. She was lost in a daydream, remembering the faces of her parents who had been taken from her too soon by a demon.
The bell rang, jolting Yu out of her reverie. She shook her head, gathering her things and heading out of the classroom. She was stopped by her best friend and fellow orphan, Ten Takuimara, who stood in front of her with his usual messy white hair, gray eyes, and glasses.
"Hey, Shodai!" Ten said, a smile on his face. "You were daydreaming again, huh? You should be more careful. You never know who might take advantage of you."
Yu rolled her eyes, a small smile playing on her lips. "Shut up, Takuimara. I can take care of myself."
Ten chuckled, falling into step beside her as they walked home. "I know you can, but it's always good to have someone watching your back."
Yu and Ten engaged in playful banter as they walked, exchanging insults and jokes. Despite her tough exterior, Yu had a soft spot for Ten. He had always been there for her since they met at the orphanage, and she knew she could always count on him.
They arrived at Yu's house, a small but cozy place that she had managed to buy with her own money. She threw her bag on the floor, kicked off her shoes, and changed into a white shirt and black shorts. She settled down to eat the leftover spaghetti from the night before while watching TV.
Hours passed, and Yu fell asleep on the couch. Suddenly, she was woken up by a loud noise coming from her bedroom. It sounded like a window breaking. Yu's heart raced, but she was not afraid. She was cautious.
She grabbed a baseball bat from the floor and made her way to her bedroom. There, she saw a small red creature on the floor. It looked scared. Yu wondered if it was a demon, but she did not let her guard down.
Suddenly, a group of men in black suits burst into her house, armed and dangerous. They were after the creature, and they did not care who got in their way. The creature ran to Yu and hugged her leg, as if seeking protection.
Yu was not one to back down from a fight, but she was outnumbered and outgunned. One of the men pulled out a knife and stabbed her, leaving a deep gash on her face. Yu fell to the ground, struggling to breathe. She was losing consciousness, but she was not ready to give up.
The creature approached her, offering to save her life in exchange for letting it live inside her body. Yu was scared, but she was also desperate. She agreed.
The next thing Yu knew, she woke up in her bed. She touched her face and felt the scar. She got up and went to the bathroom, where she saw two red horns growing from her head and her eyes had turned yellow.
She was shocked and confused. She wondered where the men in black suits had gone and realized that she must have killed them. But how? She didn't remember.
