The sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows across Maria's backyard. I walked up the path to her house, feeling a familiar sense of nostalgia wash over me. It had been years since I had last seen her, but she hadn't changed a bit.
I found her lounging in a chair, a cigarette dangling from her fingers. "Well if it isn't the prodigal son," she said, looking up at me with a smirk.
"You haven't changed a bit, Maria," I said, returning her smile.
She scoffed. "Please, you're just trying to make me feel old."
I laughed. "Never. You're as beautiful as ever."
Maria rolled her eyes, but I could see the hint of a blush on her cheeks. She gestured to the chair next to her. "Want a drink?"
"Sure," I said, sitting down.
As we talked, I couldn't help but notice the way Maria's body moved as she spoke. Her long, lean legs stretched out in front of her, her toned arms gesturing wildly as she made a point. I felt a familiar stirring in my pants, and I shifted in my seat, trying to hide it from her.
But Maria noticed. She raised an eyebrow at me. "Some things never change, do they?" she said, a smirk on her face.
I was embarrassed, but also turned on by her directness. I stuttered out a response, trying to play it cool.
Maria laughed. "You always were a shy one," she said.
I decided to take a risk. "Do you remember the way I used to watch you when I was younger?" I asked.
Maria looked at me, a glint in her eye. "I might have noticed," she said.
I was shocked, but also thrilled. "Did you ever think about me in that way?" I asked.
Maria took another drag of her cigarette, and blew out a smoke ring. "I might have," she said.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, but I was also excited. I asked Maria if she wanted to go inside.
She stood up, crushing her cigarette under her foot. "Lead the way," she said.
As we walked inside, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. I wasn't sure what was going to happen, but I knew it was going to be good.
