Smooch Roulette: Zach's Drunken Dare

**Chapter One: Midnight Mischief**

The door to Zach and Maddie’s tiny apartment flew open with a dramatic thud, the sound swallowed by a wave of drunken laughter that spilled in from the hallway. The group of six stumbled inside, a tangle of limbs and slurred curses, their energy still electric from a night of bar-hopping. The cramped living room, barely big enough for its mismatched furniture, was a mess of empty pizza boxes and scattered beer cans from earlier chaos. The dim glow of a single lamp cast long shadows over the clutter, the air thick with the mingled scents of cheap vodka, sweat, and a cocktail of floral perfumes.

Maddie, the undisputed queen of the night, kicked off her heels with a flourish, her dark hair wild and her crimson lipstick smudged just enough to look dangerous. She surveyed the room with a wicked grin, her sharp green eyes glinting as they landed on Zach, who was already half-collapsed onto a sagging couch, his cheeks flushed and his hazel eyes glassy. Behind her, her four friends—Alexis, Maya, Lilly, and Ellie—piled in, their voices a cacophony of giggles and shouts as they claimed spots on floor cushions and the ratty armchair.

“Goddamn, Zach, you look like you’re about to pass out already,” Maddie drawled, her voice dripping with mock pity as she sauntered over to him, hips swaying with every step. She leaned down, her face inches from his, her breath warm with the tang of tequila. “What’s the matter, lightweight? Can’t keep up with the big girls?”

Zach blinked up at her, his mouth curling into a sloppy grin as he tried to muster a defense. “I’m fine, Mads. Just… pacing myself. Unlike some people who chugged half a bar.”

The room erupted in laughter, the girls hooting and clapping as Maddie straightened up, crossing her arms with a smirk. “Oh, pacing yourself, huh? That why you nearly face-planted on the sidewalk back there, pretty boy?” she shot back, her tone sharp enough to cut through the haze of alcohol.

Alexis, a tall brunette with a leather jacket and a predatory smile, sprawled out on the armchair, kicking her boots up onto the coffee table. “Pretty boy’s got a point, though. He’s gotta save some energy for Maddie. Wouldn’t want her pet to conk out before the real fun starts,” she teased, her voice low and suggestive as she winked at Zach.

“Pet?” Zach sputtered, sitting up a little straighter, though his words slurred at the edges. “I’m not anyone’s damn pet.”

“Oh, honey, you so are,” Maya chimed in, her soft voice laced with amusement as she tucked a strand of honey-blonde hair behind her ear. She sat cross-legged on a cushion, her shy demeanor a stark contrast to the bold makeup smudged around her eyes. “Maddie’s got you on a leash, and you love it.”

Lilly, perched on the arm of the couch with her platinum curls bouncing, let out a cackle. “Look at him blush! Bet he’s picturing the collar right now.”

Ellie, the quietest of the bunch with her dark-rimmed glasses and sly smirk, added, “Maybe we should get him one. Red, to match Maddie’s lipstick.”

“Alright, alright, enough,” Zach groaned, dragging a hand through his messy brown hair, though the grin tugging at his lips betrayed his embarrassment. “Y’all are ruthless.”

Maddie chuckled, dropping down onto the couch beside him, her thigh pressing against his with deliberate intent. “Damn right we are. You’re lucky we keep you around for entertainment, babe.” She patted his knee, her touch lingering just long enough to make his breath hitch.

The room quieted for a moment, the buzz of alcohol and exhaustion settling over them like a heavy blanket. But Alexis, never one for stillness, sat up suddenly, her dark eyes gleaming with mischief. “You know what this party needs? A little spice. I’m bored, and pretty boy over there looks like he could use a wake-up call.”

Maddie arched a brow, her smirk returning. “Oh? What’ve you got in mind, Lex?”

Alexis leaned forward, her grin downright feral. “A kissing challenge. Each of us gets a turn with Zach. Right here, right now. Maddie watches, ‘cause we all know she’s the boss. Let’s see if he can handle us.”

The room went silent for a beat, the air crackling with sudden tension. Zach’s eyes widened, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. “Wait, what—?”

“Hold up,” Maddie cut in, her voice like a whip as she held up a hand, her gaze narrowing on Alexis. “You think you can just call dibs on my man without asking? Bold, even for you.”

Alexis shrugged, unfazed. “Figured you’d be into it, Mads. You love a good show. And let’s be real, you’re not the sharing type unless you’re in control. So, lay down the law, boss lady. We’re waiting.”

Maddie’s lips twitched, her eyes flicking to Zach, who looked like he was torn between bolting and begging for mercy. She leaned closer to him, her voice dropping to a dangerous purr. “What do you say, babe? Think you can keep up with my girls? Or are you gonna tap out before we even start?”

Zach swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he tried to play it cool. “I, uh… I’m game. If you are.”

“Oh, I’m more than game,” Maddie said, her smile sharp as a blade. She turned to the group, her tone commanding. “Alright, listen up. Ground rules: one kiss each, no funny business beyond that. You break my toy, you’re answering to me. And Zach, if you can’t handle it, you say the word, got it? I don’t want you passing out on my couch.”

“Damn, Maddie, way to make a guy feel special,” Zach muttered, earning a chorus of snickers.

“Shut it, pretty boy,” Maddie snapped, though her eyes sparkled with amusement. “Lex, you’re up first. Show him what you’ve got.”

Alexis didn’t need to be told twice. She slid off the armchair with the grace of a panther, her boots clicking against the hardwood as she sauntered over to Zach. She towered over him for a moment, her gaze raking over him like he was prey. “Don’t worry, sweetheart. I’ll be gentle… ish.”

Before Zach could respond, Alexis grabbed his chin, tilting his face up as she leaned down and captured his lips in a kiss that was anything but gentle. It was hungry, aggressive, her tongue demanding entrance as her fingers tightened just enough to make him gasp. The room erupted in cheers and wolf whistles, the girls egging her on as Zach’s hands hovered awkwardly in the air, unsure where to land.

When Alexis finally pulled back, she licked her lips, smirking as she patted his cheek. “Not bad, pretty boy. You’ve got potential.”

Zach, red-faced and breathless, managed a weak, “Uh, thanks?”

Maddie laughed, her voice cutting through the noise. “Don’t get too cocky, Lex. He’s still mine. Maya, your turn. Let’s see if you can top that.”

Maya bit her lip, her shy demeanor warring with the challenge in Maddie’s tone. She stood slowly, smoothing her skirt as she approached Zach, her cheeks already pink. “I’m, um, not as… intense as Lex,” she mumbled, her voice barely audible over the hum of anticipation in the room.

“Hey, no pressure,” Zach said, offering her a lopsided grin, though his voice trembled just a bit. “I’m already half-dead here.”

Maya smiled, a small, determined thing, and leaned in. Her kiss was softer, tentative at first, but there was a quiet heat to it, a surprising depth as she pressed closer, her hands resting lightly on his shoulders. When she pulled away, her face was flushed, but her eyes were bright with triumph.

“Damn, Maya, didn’t know you had it in you!” Ellie called out, clapping her hands.

Maya ducked her head, scurrying back to her cushion as Maddie gave her an approving nod. “Not bad, babe. You’ve got hidden claws.”

Zach ran a hand over his face, looking dazed as he glanced at Maddie. “You’re enjoying this way too much.”

“Damn right I am,” Maddie shot back, her grin wicked. “You’re doing fine, babe. Let’s see if you survive the next round.”

Lilly stood up, her platinum curls bouncing as she cracked her knuckles with exaggerated menace. “My turn, pretty boy. Hope you’re ready for me.”

Zach’s eyes widened, his nervous excitement palpable as the room buzzed with anticipation, every pair of eyes locked on the two of them. Maddie leaned back, her smirk never wavering, the queen of her chaotic court, waiting to see just how far her game would go.
