Cady, the goddess of inventions and technology, sat on her throne in the great hall of Mount Olympus. She was tinkering with a small gadget, her mind a million miles away as she absentmindedly twisted and turned various screws and bolts.
"Ugh, I'm so single," she complained to Hephaestus, the god of fire and the blacksmith of the gods, who was sitting next to her.
Hephaestus grumbled in response, causing Cady to look up and raise an eyebrow. "You? Single?" she asked, a playful smirk on her face. "I find that hard to believe."
Hephaestus rolled his eyes. "Believe what you want, Cady. It's not like anyone else does."
Cady noticed the underlying sadness in Hephaestus's tone and decided to tease him. "Oh, poor Hephaestus, the god who can make anything but can't seem to make a relationship work."
Hephaestus chuckled. "And you, Cady, the goddess of inventions, yet you can't seem to invent a way to find a decent partner."
Cady stuck her tongue out at him. "At least I'm not stuck making weapons for the other gods all day."
Hephaestus retorted, "At least I'm not stuck with my head in the clouds, inventing gadgets that no one needs."
Cady laughed. "Touché, Hephaestus. But seriously, why are we both single? We're not bad looking, and we have powers."
Hephaestus shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe the other gods think we're too focused on our work."
Cady nodded. "That must be it. They're just jealous of our talents."
Hephaestus chuckled. "Yeah, that must be it."
Cady looked at Hephaestus, a mischievous glint in her eye. "You know what we should do? We should show them that we're not just gods of work. We should show them that we can have fun too."
Hephaestus raised an eyebrow. "And how do you propose we do that?"
Cady grinned. "We should pretend to date. That'll shake things up."
Hephaestus laughed. "You're on."
The two gods stood up, causing the other gods to look at them in surprise. Cady took Hephaestus's hand and led him out of the great hall, leaving the other gods to whisper and gossip about their sudden "relationship."
As they walked through the halls of Mount Olympus, Cady couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement. She had never really thought about Hephaestus in a romantic way before, but now that they were pretending to date, she couldn't help but notice how attractive he was. His muscular build, his piercing blue eyes, and his quick wit all combined to make him a very appealing partner.
Hephaestus, for his part, was also starting to see Cady in a new light. He had always admired her intelligence and creativity, but now he was starting to see her as a woman. Her long, curly hair, her sparkling green eyes, and her playful sense of humor all made her a very desirable companion.
As they walked, Cady and Hephaestus exchanged flirtatious glances and sharp, witty banter. It was clear that they were enjoying each other's company, and it wasn't long before the other gods started to take notice.
"Look at Cady and Hephaestus," whispered Aphrodite, the goddess of love, to her companion. "They make a very attractive couple."
"I never would have thought of pairing them together," replied her companion. "But they do seem to have good chemistry."
Cady and Hephaestus continued to walk, their hands still intertwined. They didn't care what the other gods thought of them. They were having too much fun.
As they reached the entrance to the mountain, Cady turned to Hephaestus and grinned. "You know what would be even more fun?" she asked.
Hephaestus raised an eyebrow. "What's that?"
Cady leaned in close and whispered in his ear. "If we took this act outside of Mount Olympus. Just think of the reaction we would get from the mortals."
Hephaestus chuckled. "You're a devil, Cady. But I like it."
And with that, the two gods walked out of Mount Olympus, ready to start their fake relationship and cause a stir among the gods and mortals alike.
